Position Summary:

The Department of Medicine is comprised of 11 Divisions by Medicine Subspecialty. The post award team in the Finance unit is responsible for management of more than $29 million in contracts, grants and research funding. This centralized unit provides expertise and financial management for contracts, grants and university allocations for research.

Under general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, performs financial analysis and reporting and performs accounting transactions related to payroll, contract and grant management and maintains contract and grant records in compliance with institutional and research sponsor policies. Receives assignments on project basis and fully analyzes problems, gathers data and information, and recommends solutions. Serves as fiscal officer for assigned awards, evaluates expenditures to ensure compliance with award guidelines and budget. Audits payroll documents to ensure accuracy and completion of work. Serve as department resource clinical trial funds, recharge and management of post award reporting.

Hybrid with one day onsite.

$29.31 - $51.95 Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

  • Ability to manage a high volume of transactions.

  • Ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis and customized reporting.

  • Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.

  • Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization; communication skills; and a customer service focus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles.

Preferred:

Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines. Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration. Knowledge of grant funding processes, procedures and techniques. Writing skills to draft persuasive text for variety of audiences. Knowledge of UC Path and School of Medicine DSS
