Overview

As the Research Administrator II, you will serve as a key figure in the research mission of the institution. Some of your responsibilities include independently supporting investigators through the entire proposal submission process and administration of a large, high dollar and varied portfolio of sponsored awards that may include multiple faculty and locations. The ideal candidate for this position has excellent communication skills, is adaptable, open minded, has good time management, and experience with contract or grant management. A strong candidate has an in-depth understanding of clinical research and the NIH grant process.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible to:

  • Manage competing priorities while providing excellence in customer service to internal and external customers;

  • Ensure activity records are accurate, appropriately organized and recorded in a timely manner; independently negotiate sponsored agreements and contracts;

  • Serve as a training resource for faculty and staff at all levels;

  • Identify and disseminate potential funding sources for faculty constituency;

  • Develop documentation of protocols, templates, and additional resources;

  • Read, interpret, disseminate, and apply federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory documents.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a business or a related field

  • Master's degree preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years of grant and contract, IRB, IACUC, research administration or related experience is required

  • Experience using Huron products preferred

  • Experience with Lawson or Workday a plus

Other Credentials

  • Certified Research Administrator (Issued by Research Administors Certification Council) strongly preferred

As a Clinical Research Associate II with a regulatory support focus, you will coordinate the post study start-up regulatory support activities of NIH and industry-sponsored studies through study close out and work with eReg applications such as Veeva SiteVault. This will include coordinating post-study start up regulatory submissions such as protocol amendments as well as training study coordinators and other staff in basic clinical trial regulatory maintenance responsibilities. In addition to having clinical research experience in general and coordinating regulatory aspects of clinical trials specifically, a background in Quality Management, is desired. Responsibilities Your role as the Clinical Research Associate II under the Infectious Diseases will include: * Coordinating the regulatory post study start-up requirements for mainly externally sponsored (e.g., NIH funded or industry sponsored) clinical research studies, including the maintenance of electronic regulatory binders as per applicable regulatory requirements in SiteVault. * Serving as a regulatory liaison for the team and working with departmental and institutional regulatory central resources to coordinate post study start up regulatory activities. * Providing oversight and training to study staff in basic regulatory responsibilities such as submitting continuing reviews, maintaining delegation of responsibilities log, documentation of training of study documents. * Communicating with study staff as well as study sponsors related to trial regulatory operations. * Preparing and submitting to local or central Institutional Review Board (IRB) or other institutional committees post study start up applications such as for protocol amendments. * Staying up to date with federal regulations (e.g., FDA) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP) Minimum Education * Bachelor's degree in a related biomedical/bio-behavioral field required * Master's degree preferred Minimum Experience * Two (2) years of direct experience in clinical biomedical and/or behavioral research required Other Credentials * (LC: SOCRA or ACRP) Certification in clinical research from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) must be obtained within three (3) years of assuming the position What We Offer Other Information St. Jude is an Equal Opportunity Employer No Search Firms: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
