Easter Seals currently has an opening for Family Nurse Practitioner for our Adolescent Residential Program located in Manchester NH.

Easterseals residential facilities provide 24-hour support to youth ages 5-21 with neurological and or psychiatric disabilities. It is designed for males and females from ages eight to 21 with psychological/emotional or neurological disabilities including pervasive developmental disorders, nonverbal learning disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries.

Qualifications:

  • Current ANCC board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner

  • Licensed in NH as an RN and as an APRN

  • Prior experience in medical surgical nursing and working independently in the Nurse Practitioner role.

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities including neurological, emotional/psychological and medical is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to relate with clients with empathy and compassion

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

  • Perform examinations including admission PE and 30-day PE and conduct focused exams based on client symptoms

  • Coordinate client to be seen outside of our facility as needed for urgent car, xrays or ER visits

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests

  • Prescribe prescription medication for clients as needed

  • Communicate with client's guardians and Easterseals team regarding client related medical issues and concerns

  • Ensure ongoing communication with residential, school, behavioral health and nursing staff on matters related to client's health and safety

  • Participate in a rotating on call capacity

  • Participate in team/interdisciplinary client meetings

  • Provide education to staff on specific client diagnosis and on routine and emergency medical treatment plans.

This individual works independently as a licensed clinician. # KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Administers aerosolized medication, chest physiotherapy, airway clearance techniques,and hyperinflation therapy upon physician orders/protocols. Draws, analyzes and interprets arterial blood gases. Participates in patient education and evaluation.
