Job Summary

Postdoc positions are available at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Research Institute starting in the fall of 2018. Newly relocated to the CHOP/University of Pennsylvania medical campus, the Long lab is seeking highly motivated postdoc to expand an active research program broadly related to skeletal biology and pathophysiology https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/myncbi/fanxin.long.1/bibliography/40625476/public/?sort=date&direction=descending. Relevant research topics include but are not limited to mesenchymal stem cells and differentiation, cartilage and bone development, homeostasis and aging, diabetic complications in skeleton, integration of bone and whole-body metabolism. Successful postdocs are expected to employ leading-edge technologies including high-throughput sequencing, metabolomics, iPS technology and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing to tackle important questions in the field. Individuals with PhD or MD and a strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or mouse genetics are encouraged to apply and they do not need prior research experience in skeletal biology.   • A terminal degree PhD, MD, DVM, etc.

  • According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) a copy of diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non-laboratory personnel performing non-waived POC testing

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Additional Technical Requirements

All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.
