Job Description:


SAIC is seeking a Requirements Systems Engineer to support the Landmark GSS contract. The position will be located in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

In this role, you will perform Systems Engineering activities related to Information Technology or Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain and trace associated enterprise requirements

  • Derive lower level requirements from higher level requirements

  • Validate traces of requirements from bottom up and top down

  • Understand the objectives and mission of the customer to ensure that the requirements appropriately address customer needs

  • Work closely with the Government customer and make recommendations related to management of the requirements.

  • Conduct end to end integration and successful oversight of specific directed capabilities

  • Work collaboratively across the enterprise and with external stakeholders


  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or related scientific or technical discipline with 9 years of experience, or a Master's with 5 years of experience.

  • Domain experience in Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), or Commercial IT programs

  • Proficiency applying SE&I (e.g., processes, mission needs engineering & analysis and I/F definition, project planning/IMS, IV&V, and transition, risk and readiness management)

Responsibilities The Communications Requirements Engineer generates valid requirements and interface specs for the systems Space/Ground communications architecture. Responsibilities include ensuring the requirements and interfaces are consistent with the system architecture using Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) practices. * Defining systems architecture strategy, system requirements, and interfaces * Provide leadership, oversight and technical guidance to the systems integration program, and perform cross-discipline activities required to support enterprise architecture decision-making and assessment of alternatives in relation to the customer's enterprise alignment initiatives. * Lead or participate in the development of system architectures to evolve mission services * Translate customer needs into communications system requirements * Document interfaces with external service providers * Capture and maintain architecture configurations for strategic initiatives via MBSE tools * Develop and present plans and status to customer and community stakeholders * Actively participate in readiness events to validate requirements and interfaces The Communications Requirements Engineer designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Qualifications Requires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D. Applicant should have a BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or related technical field. Experience in Space/Ground Communications system architectures and requirements generation and management. The ability to excel as a member of a collaborative team through open communication, transparency, and flexibility, and the ability to relate professionally with senior Government customers and colleagues.
