Overview

Collector I handles both 1-30 day past due customers as well as 31+ day accounts

Responsibilities

  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts- Customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write off, customer reconciliations and processing credit memos.

  • Ability to manage customers with multiple schedules.

  • Review, prepare, and send manual invoicing both timely and accurately if warranted by customer requirements. Collecting on delinquent accounts, answering incoming customer/dealer inquiries via phone or email, account reconciliations, billing/invoicing inquiries

  • Build and maintain working relationships with Customers, Dealers, other Canon entities, and associates.

  • Follows through on all issues timely and accurately to resolution and ensure escalation when necessary for cases. Resolve customer delinquency to ensure resolution prior to 90 days.

  • Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.

  • Resolves disputes such as insurance, asset usage, sales tax, equipment disputes, property tax, monetary adjustments etc. in a timely fashion.

  • Has skip tracing/account reconciliation knowledge.

  • Update core systems with case management while updating and maintaining both the contact and virtual account database.

  • Responsible to provide professional, courteous, responsive and accurate service to our customers that is in harmony with the Canon Brand image.

  • Effective and efficient handling of customer transactions while maintaining customer focus, collaborating and communicating in real time.

  • Ability to make sound, factual based timely decisions to provide an extraordinary service experience with customers.

  • Successfully completes other projects as assigned by management.

  • Achieve delinquency goal, as assigned monthly

  • Achieve quality and activity goals, as assigned monthly

  • Achieve other goals as assigned by management

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service/listening skills and provide timely follow-up

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, quality work ethic, works well with others, and respectful of other associates at all

  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse functional team.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Experience Preferred: no previous collections experience to 1 year Collections/Customer Service experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office products

  • Requires individuals to work successfully within a team environment and inter-departmentally to ensure service levels, group and individual metrics are met.

  • Proven analytical problem solving skills and basic math skills required

  • Ability to multitask and excel in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong ability to prioritize, with excellent time management skills.

  • Successful utilization of systems: SalesForce, Unified Desktop

Qualifications

  • Experience Preferred: no previous collections experience to 1 year Collections/Customer Service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office products

  • Requires individuals to work successfully within a team environment and inter-departmentally to ensure service levels, group and individual metrics are met

  • Proven analytical problem solving skills and basic math skills required

  • Ability to multitask and excel in a fast paced environment

  • Strong ability to prioritize, with excellent time management skills

Reporting to our VP - Strategic Programs, this role is responsible for soliciting and signing major manufacturers, distributors, large organizations and B2B e-commerce companies ("Strategic Accounts") with third party Finance programs with the potential of funding $5+ million plus in annual finance volume. This role will expand Marlin's Digital/B2B e-commerce platform across the U.S. and in the Vendor finance market. This role will be responsible for articulating our B2B e-commerce and digital value proposition to perspective Partners, formally presenting our value proposition, negotiating program agreements, facilitating digital integrations and successfully signing and launching new programs. While Marlin's headquarters location is Mt. Laurel, NJ, this position can be located remotely. Essential Functions: * Individual contributor, responsible for new program originations. Focused on bringing on new programs that can produce >$5MM/year in equipment finance volume * Prospect large scale potential partners to refer their small business customers to Marlin with a focus on accounts that see value in our digital tools * Solicit and close new B2B e-commerce programs * Initiate relationships with program prospects in a wide variety of industries * Negotiate program terms * Travel to facilitate face-to-face sales meetings and attend trade shows * Call and solicit organizations who have a large databased of small business customers that Marlin can jointly market to in order to leverage our online lending platform. * Successfully launch new programs internally to maximize the success of the program. * Positive and credible interaction with internal functional groups (Credit, Ops, Legal, Asset Management, Finance, Syndications, Capital Markets, Collections and Customer Service to position a prospective program for review and approval. * Develop and maintain accurate data in database. * Stay informed of emerging trends in the equipment finance industry and the B2B e-commerce and digital marketplace. * Provide feedback to leadership on the competitive landscape, industry news/trends and the B2B e-commerce marketplace. Qualifications: * BA/BS or relevant experience * 7-10+ years Business Development experience * Undergraduate degree in business, finance or relevant field * Strong negotiating skills, project management and diplomacy skills * Adept with technology and a strategic thinker - knows what's best for the business * Excellent judgment, mature personality, and experience working with executives; a sophisticated and well-connected, businessperson * Team player, pro-active and action-oriented, anticipates needs, is assertive, and is highly accountable * 5+ years of successful consultative sales-related experience in the B2B e-commerce market and equipment financing industry with a proven track record of success including offering a Digital/B2B e-commerce Platform. * Ability to travel (approximately 25-50%).
