Job Duties:

  • The Project Manager I will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to priority, and within deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to approved plan. The Project Manager will also assist in defining the project's objectives and oversee quality control through its life cycle. IT projects involved are related to Systems Integration, IT infrastructure, IT operations, and Cybersecurity. This position reports to the Division of Technology Services Director of Service Delivery in Columbia.

  • Tracks and manages active and pending Network Operations projects. Create and maintain project proposals, plans and updates, and maintain project documentation. Oversees development and execution of communication plan about project impact and status; prepare status reports and provide updates to project stakeholders, partners, and DTS leadership team.

  • Facilitates the procurement process required by Network Operations projects, maintain vendor relationships, including tracking contract requirements to ensure vendors' contract requirements are fulfilled.

  • Coordinates and facilitates projects undertaken in collaboration with the Agency information security team. Ensure Network Operations projects comply with identified State and Federal security policy, principles, and practices.

  • Works with program areas and end users, as the initial point of contact, to identify and communicate user impact of requested technology projects, and coordinate with technical teams to establish requirements, budget, and timeline for the selection, installation, and application of solutions and services to address technology needs or correct issues identified by program areas.

  • Works with DTS senior management in the development and implementation of information technology strategic plans that identify current resources and service gaps, recommends improvements, and prioritizes projects to maintain the Agency's technical ability to support DSS mission critical services.

  • Perform Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Bachelor's degree and relevant project management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, relevant training, certification, and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). Experience in program management. Experience in project management for a State or Federal entity.
