What We?re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of professional journalism experience
Strong writing and reporting skills, along with excellent news judgement.
Ability to work independently on tight deadlines.
Fluency in English necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of U.S. electricity markets and financial aspects of the energy industry.
A background in national and international power sector developments and trends.

Qualifications: Principal – Electrical Power Systems (EPS) – Temporary Part-Time This position is for an experienced spacecraft power system engineer who can make key contributions to the EPS team through all phases of the satellite program, including design and analysis, production, test and operations for spacecraft power subsystems. What You'll Do: * Perform design and analysis tasks for spacecraft power systems, including power system modeling, circuit analysis, on-orbit anomaly investigation, performance evaluation, and documentation of work performed. * Conceive and develop solutions to engineering problems through the application of professionally and industry-wide accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures. Ensure that engineering work conforms to high technical and company standards and meets or exceeds all contract requirements. * Ensure the producibility of designs and products. Compile and evaluate design and data to determine adequacy and completeness of the product or software and the engineering effectiveness of the results compared to requirements and specifications. * Compile and prepare necessary data and engineering items to support technical meetings and end-item product delivery. * May review drawings, procedures and engineering orders for completeness, compatibility, producibility, and correctness. * Should be able to work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. * Be able to provide and communicate understanding of both the technical and programmatic aspects of a project to the team as well as the customer. * Maintain and update required records and reports. * Present and resolve any technical program difficulties or discrepancies with the team, customers, and subcontractors in a timely manner. * Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. * Perform other duties as necessary. What You'll Need: * BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience. * Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. * Familiarity with spacecraft power system design, I&T experience, mission operations experience, current power system modeling experience, familiarity with Nickel Hydrogen batteries, solar arrays and power control and distribution hardware. * Familiarity with Ball Aerospace power system architectures and hardware is highly desirable. Working Conditions: * Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment. * May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. * May access other facilities in various weather conditions. * Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
