The Nassau County Record seeks a full-time news and sports reporter/photographer to join its newsroom - Emphasis on the news reporting. This is not a sports-only gig and resumes alluding to only covering sports will not be considered.

Responsibilities The right candidate should have strong writing abilities and the capability to write news and feature stories in addition to the occasional sports story.

The majority of the job focuses on news, though sports coverage is part of the role. Knowledge of AP Style is essential, but can be learned on the job. The position does require some nights and weekends.

Qualifications Previous experience in writing and photography. Journalism degree preferred, but life experience also qualifies. Adobe Photoshop skills required. Fluency with Adobe InDesign is a plus.
