Overview

The Orlando Sentinel is looking for an aggressive, digitally-focused reporter to cover Florida State athletics and select Florida A&M events. The job is based in our Tallahassee bureau, so the person must have a strong communication skills to stay in daily contact with editors and comfort working apart from the rest of the Sentinel newsroom.

FSU is one of our top beats thanks to a history of strong audience engagement on social media. The next beat reporter must be able to break news in a highly competitive environment covering the Seminoles, find unique angles for insightful features, shoot cell phone video, appear on camera, host podcasts and use social media to drive audience to our website. Strong organization skills will be critical.

At least two to four years of experience at a newspaper or website is required.
