STATEMENT OF THE JOB: Performs a wide variety of complex reporting assignments, acting as an expert in certain subject areas.
May cover a beat or beats and may work on investigative, in-depth articles or larger projects.
Should work in a professional journalistic manner for print, digital platforms and social media.
REQUIREMENTS OR SPECIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Journalism or English and at five years of experience as a reporter for a news organization, advanced multimedia skills preferred.

Must be able to work independently on most complicated reporting assignments.

Must have reliable automobile and smartphone Must be licensed driver and carry appropriate auto insurance.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Ability to coordinate and produce stories, current events and be enterprising while looking for new angles beyond the routine.
Should have some multimediaskills and the ability to tell a story in multiple ways.
Should have solid command of English language and rules of grammar.
Must work well with others.
Must have some computer and proofreading skills.
Must have transportation, valid driver's license and be able to furnish proof of insurance on vehicle.
Physical Demands: see attached physical specification form for physical demands.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work will be performed inside and outside the newsroom.
Must have sense of urgency with news coverage and be able to work under stressful conditions, alone or with a team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: 1.
Diligently cover assigned beat, or beats, and other assignments in multiple formats on multiple platforms.
This includes shooting photos and video with most stories.
2.
Must be able to manage and engage in social media with emphasis on timely information and sourcing.
3.
Meet deadlines and work under pressure with quality and speed during newsgathering duties.
Must be able to work on short-term and long-term projects through time management and planning.
4.
Be accurate, expert in verification and conform to appropriate media style.
Provides fair and accurate assessment of news impact.
5.
Use a thorough knowledge of current events and the content of the newspaper and apply this knowledge to the job.
Generate ideas for news and feature coverage in all media formats expected.
6.
Demonstrate integrity, initiative, integration and innovation in both personal conduct and daily work.
7.
Be able to develop and maintain sources and knowledge to develop stories and report in timely fashion.
Protects confidential information and sources.
8.
Must be able to work independently and solve complex problems, taking initiative to create new methods or establish protocols or help determine story play, along with editors.
9.
May also provide technical direction to less experienced reporters or serve as lead on team reporting assignments.
This could include basic training or mentoring assignments as required.
10.
Perform other tasks as necessary or assigned by supervisors.

The Panama City News Bulletin, a weekly newspaper located in Northwest Florida, is seeking an energetic reporter.
This is an entry level position and the ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have strong writing skills, be creative and flexible.
This job involves being out in the community as well as developing story ideas and sources across our three-county coverage area.
Experience with taking photos and video, as well as all forms of social media including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, is preferred.
The successful candidate will have a college degree or minimum of two years newspaper experience and must be able to produce on tight deadlines.
Strong reporting and writing skills are needed, as is an understanding of AP style.
The right candidate will be a good communicator as well, working under the direction of the managing editor.
A valid driver's license, auto insurance and a reliable vehicle are required.
This position may require occasional evening and weekend work.

Panama City Beach Sports Complex is a world-class complex that will open in the Summer of 2019. Located on 27 miles of beautiful beaches and warm water of the Gulf of Mexico the Panama City Beach Sports Complex will be one of the premier locations in the Southeast as a sports tourism destination. The Panama City Beach Sports Complex will boast up to thirteen (13) rectangular fields, 5 collegiate fields for baseball/softball and up to seventeen (17) youth sized baseball/softball fields. The fields are comprised of nine (9) synthetic turf and four (4) natural grass. The role is rewarding, the environment uplifting and the responsibility is critical to the community we serve. In addition to the outdoor complex Phase 2 may include an 8 court facility that will host basketball, volleyball and mat sports. POSITION SUMMARY: PCBS SFM, LLC ("PCBS") is hiring a Director of Events & Business Development who will be responsible for the sales and execution of special events, programming and sporting events. Director of Events & Business Development will also work closely with other departments to manage staff scheduling and training. This position and the General Manager have the primary responsibility for generating revenue at the Panama City Beach Sports Complex.
