What to Expect: Nestle Retail Sales Representatives are responsible for driving in-store retail sale execution. As an individual contributor, position has responsibility for assigned territory in support of OpCos (Nestle USA, Nestle Purina Pet Care and Nestle Nutrition) sales objectives and successful execution of activities driving overall value of retail for Nestle and customers.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Independent
  • Sell in proper share of distribution with a focus on core or distribution/new items to reflect picture of success standard
  • Plan-o-gram (POG)
  • Confirm proper execution
  • Point of Sale (POS) - Address and correct On Shelf Availability (OSA) and Repetitive Sacn Alerts (RSA) as identified

  • Secure secondary permanent location on appropriate skus


  • Plan-o-gram
  • Confirm proper reset execution/Customer Retail Execution Program (CREP)
  • Non Plan-o-gram
  • Sell in proper placement/flow with a focus on core distribution/ new items according to reflect picture of success standard to include indirect HDQ accounts


  • Store Controlled
  • Ensure everyday price spreads across our key price segments according to picture of success guidelines
  • Headquarter (HQ) Controlled
  • Ensure pricing is according to headquarter standards and communicate discrepancies in a timely manner


  • Retail Sales Representative is expected to cover route based on opportunities to maximize territory Value of retail (VOR) /Return on investment (ROI)

  • Understand VOR of in store activities and align plans/priorities to maximize ROI of time invested in store

  • Long term store coverage additions/deletions should be reviewed and determined with Retail Sales Manager

Business Planning:

  • Utilizes account planning, tools and reports to develop daily /weekly plans/priorities to maximize VOR

  • Attend and participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly business planning meetings, completing all required pre-work and coming prepared to share any best practices and/or any opportunities experienced

  • Complete bi-monthly performance checkpoint review with Retail Sales Manager (RSM) to include post analysis reviews reviewing market conditions, and internal stakeholder

  • Develop proper relations with district/region level and other operations personnel at WalMart and links with the region Retail Operations Manager to make calls

  • For identified HDQ Indirect Accounts, develop quarterly business plans by working with OpCo Account Team on incremental programs and gain alignment on expectations against MWBs

  • Must have the ability to and is empowered to set individual goals by Value of Retail priority and drive individual Region contribution performance


  • Accurately record activities during each store call in RW3
  • Complete all administrative duties (i.e. Travel & Expense reports, online training, PTO, Friends Helping Friends, etc.) as directed by Nestl Retail Sales (NRS) leadership Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS or 2-3 year retail experience preferred

  • Core knowledge of 4 P's (Promotion, Position, Pricing, Placement) and Picture of Success

  • Industry / Retail Knowledge preferred

Other Skills and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of successful Retail sales and/or consumer goods experience preferred

  • Open minded towards new and different ways of doing things

  • Ability to recognize obstacles and involves others to take immediate action to move things forward

  • Demonstrates leadership ability through direct or cross functional team

  • Ability to learn the role and responsibilities of the position

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
