The Rentals Technician is responsible for ensuring aspects related to the rental equipment. Primary responsibilities will include completing maintenance logs, servicing and maintaining all rental equipment. Managing the small parts rental inventory and rental base to ensure sales orders are shipped to customers both internally and externally with a total commitment to the culture of customer service. This person is also responsible for maintaining and repairing rental equipment and following the maintenance program. This includes ensuring the paperwork is filled out correctly and the inspections are completed in an efficient, expedient, and safe manner; ensuring communication with all individuals involved. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, input and tracking data entry of raw and finished materials in the WMS, using software programs such as IFS and Microsoft Office. Strong multi-tasking skills and an excellent awareness to detail are integral in this position. A high level of initiative, decision-making skills, diligence, organization, and thoroughness is also required. The ability to positively interact over a broad range of departments within all Flexpipe facilities and individuals is critical to the success of this position.

  • Inspect and repair rental equipment for both incoming/outgoing.

  • Complete quality repairs on rental equipment within standards

  • Daily maintenance operations including logs, maintenance and tracking of equipment

  • Fill out all necessary paperwork, tags etc. to allow for tracking of all repairs, concerns and costs.

  • Suggests and implements strategies or process enhancements on efficiencies of rental program functions, helping to identify any areas for continuous improvement

  • Organize keeping the maintenance area neat at all times for effectiveness and efficiency

  • Track time allocation per unit, project, or department as specified.

  • Maintains a safe working environment by following safety rules and regulations

  • Any other matter dealing with Materials or Rentals if required.

Qualifications:

  • Community College

  • 3 to 5 years of experience

  • Forklift Certification

  • Valid Class C Driver's License

  • Mechanical Certificate or Diploma is an asset

  • Computer expertise in Windows O/S and applications, and ERP systems

  • Experience in small engine repair

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide Product Line specific Technical Sales support for the organization through direct sales presentations, training programs, and customer seminars. Develop sales aids in the form of presentation material, CD's documentation, and procedure manuals required for specific projects. Assist with the development of quotations and Product Line related bid packages. Provide technical support for Regional Sales to present current technology in a direct selling effort.
