OVERVIEW:

SAFEbuilt is currently seeking a talented, experienced Rental Inspector to join our team. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments. You'll be a member of our highly respected building department team with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged. Our inspectors work as part of a team that strives to provide the highest level of service, improvement and community health and safety.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responds to and investigates allegations of violations of Municipal, Land Development and Property Maintenance Codes to determine validity of complaints and the appropriate course of action to mitigate issues.

  • Notification of issues given in writing, by phone, in person and electronically.

  • Schedules and performs systematic property maintenance inspections to maintain or achieve minimum property standards.

  • Prepares records and reports pertaining to abatements, court actions, daily activities, enforcement actions and inspections.

  • Compiles documentation for and issues summons.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, citizens and elected officials; Handle sensitive or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to make presentations

  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain City codes and site plans, maps and work plans

  • Good driving record

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification preferred

EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years or more experience in enforcement, compliance-related work including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts

What You'll Do: * Providing second and third-level support to our employees for all IT-related concerns, which includes supporting and troubleshooting technologies such as: Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File/Print Services, Spam/Virus Protection, VOIP telephony, CISCO networking and our own proprietary software * Preparing, repairing and deploying desktop computers, warehouse technologies (such as wired and wireless scan guns, packing stations) and other office equipment * Experience with deploying software\imaging with System Center Configuration Manager added * Maintaining and expanding edge network switch gear * Managing, monitoring and troubleshooting daily batch and backup processes * Helping with the planning and deployment of new and upgraded products * Helping to seek out and implement ways to make a system or process more efficient What You'll Need: * BA or BS degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent experience * One to two years of current IT Support Experience * Prior warehouse operations/warehouse management system experience a plus * A high degree of technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills * A strong sense of customer service, attention to detail and desire for organization * Experience in a helpdesk or other service-oriented IT role a large plus * Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies * Active directory experience, including Group Policy Objects and User Profiles * Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately * SQL experience a plus * Unix/Linux (particularly FreeBSD/CentOS) knowledge/interest a plus * Familiarity with email, FTP and HTTP technologies a plus * Scripting ability, especially using Powershell, VBScript and/or PHP, a large plus Other traits we look for: * Excellent interpersonal and team building skills * An analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems * An interest in working hard and being challenged in a fast-paced environment, and having fun while doing it About Us Wayfair is one of the world's largest online destinations for the home.
