Summary:

The Rental and Repair Representative is responsible for the evaluation and repair of tools coming in to the tool repair department and tools going out to fit our customer's needs.In addition to supporting customer repair needs, they are also responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and issue rental, repair, and sales orders and quotes according to company guidelines;

  • Follow up with customers on quotes to secure rental/repair/sales orders;

  • Gather and organize rental/sales items and components necessary to complete customer orders according to specific applications;

  • Instruct customers by demonstrating proper and safe use of rental items;

  • Receive and promptly process returned rental equipment; inspect to ensure items are in good mechanical operating condition, and that all necessary attachments, safety features and accessories are included with the return of rental equipment.

  • Actively work to return any damaged or incomplete equipment to rental readiness as quickly and efficiently as possible by;

  • Educate customers/prospects regarding the variety of products available for rent/sales, and detail the use and application of available tools;

  • Relay to customers the benefits of doing business with Acme by communicating the services and offerings the Company provides, including but not limited to: Night Owl, tool repair, rental, etc.;

  • Increase customer satisfaction and store profitability by proactively recommending additional items a customer might need, or promotions that might interest them;

  • Contact manufactures representatives for approval of product returns, warranty issues and solutions;

  • Manage incoming and outgoing tool repairs, ensuring orders are correctly staged and processed;

  • Research and communicate sales lead information to department manager, outside sales team, and management;

  • Maintain Rental/Repair Department to ensure all areas are clean, functional and safe;

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent

  • Minimum of two (2) years sales experience, or equivalent education and/or experience within the construction supply/distribution industry (hereinafter "industry").

  • Mechanical, electrical and QC/QA experience preferred.

  • Strong computer skills; experienced with MS Office Suite, Eclipse or other sales software preferred.

  • Strong aptitude for learning new skills; motivated to constantly improve.

  • Applied mechanical and technical aptitude;

  • Skilled in proactively communicating in both oral and written form to all departments within the company;

  • Ability to work productively in teams with a wide range of people;

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a friendly professional and positive attitude.

This position makes equipment recommendations and ensures that units are maintained. Technicians work in both our stores with Tool Rental Centers and in our repair centers. In a store, technicians will be expected to provide service to store customers in Tool Rental which includes writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, checking to make sure tool is operating properly and demonstrating its proper use (as needed). In addition to supporting customer repair needs, they are also responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. In non-store locations, technicians will ensure units are repaired, tested for the quality of the repair and cleaned prior to returning to the store where the repair originated.
