This internship will help you acquire marketable engineering skills by participating in key engineering and innovation initiatives and hands-on projects that will benefit SB Energy. You will gain broad experience in engineering principles, innovation principles, renewable energy and storage technologies, electricity market fundamentals, coding and artificial intelligence algorithms, and data analytics. The successful intern should be prepared to enter a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

The Engineering and Innovation (E&I) team at SB Energy provides technical insights and assists decision-making across all life cycle phases of renewable projects, from development, construction, and to operations and maintenance. SB Energy is seeking an intern to assist innovation-related activities within the E&I department. In particular, the intern will:

• Assist in-field operations and analysis of data generated by novel hardware and software technologies installed at SB Energy's Innovation Center near Denver, CO

• Develop optimization and control algorithm(s) for multiple renewable energy sources co-located with different types of storage

• Implement the algorithm(s) at the Innovation Center and monitor performance

• Analyze the raw data and contextualize insights for a general audience

Skills And Experience

• Working on a degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or other technical degree from ABET-accredited university. Working towards a graduate degree is a plus.

• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles, data analysis, and statistics. Experience using python for modeling or data analysis is a plus.

Location: Redwood City, CA or Denver, CO. We have a hybrid office and remote work set up.
