Remote Sensor Scientist (Active TS/SCI)

Work as a scientist in a fast-paced R&D team on EO/IR imagery systems with image or video collection problems, including characterization and exploitation. Continue previous work to incorporate new 3D shape estimations from 2D data calculation to accurately remove illumination effects for radiance calculation.

Deliver new algorithms to A/CIO T to update GOTS image processing tool subroutines to accurately account for atmospheric variables affecting observed radiance at the target surface, ensuring that any residual effects are no longer present in the algorithm. Outline a way forward for automated calculation of tilted target angles and illumination angles per target subcomponent, through use of CAD models or photogrammetric methods and metadata, to deliver A/CIO-T for integration into the GOTS image processing tool. Outline a way forward for analysis exploitation and methodology, utilizing the signatures, to deliver scientists and analysts in NGA/ATS.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of experience with imagery science

  • 9+ years of experience with sensor systems, including airborne, space-borne, or commercial systems, operations, and phenomenology

  • Knowledge of remote sensing technology and collection parameters

  • Ability to work independently with a small team of scientists, engineers, and operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in Remote Sensing, Image Science, or Physics preferred; PhD degree in Remote Sensing, Image Science, or Physics a plus

Clearance: TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications: 1-3 years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations. Network experience: * Monitors network to ensure its availability to all users. Observes and controls the status and performance of all components of network facilities. Identifies, diagnoses and resolves problems affecting network performance. * A Network Control Specialist should have a working knowledge of the terrestrial network infrastructure including hardware (routers, switches, etc.), technologies, (fiber, copper, etc.), protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, etc.) and WANs (standard connectivity and data rate, etc.). * A Network Control Specialist must possess working knowledge and experience with Cisco routers (1841's, 3745's, 3845's, 76XX's, etc.), routed networks, routed and routing protocols as well as in-depth knowledge of Cisco, Foundry and Juniper switches (i.e., CAT 3550's, CAT 3750's, CAT 6500's, FES 2402's, FES 4802's, etc.). * The Network Control Specialist must have the ability to interpret and resolve customer requirements, perform configuration management of multiple IP networks, complete software updates of equipment, perform network troubleshooting, and improve network performance. * The Network Control Specialist must have Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent experience. Must possess appropriate; current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either valid CompTia Security+ CE OR CCNA-Security certification. Security+ CE Certification preferred. In addition; must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification prior to Hire Date. As part of your role/function on the program; you will be granted privileged user access.
