Summary:

In conjunction with sales leadership, the Remodel and Design Manager will drive Global Plumbing Group sales through the creation and implementation of a sales plan as well as gain a complete understanding of showrooms, remodelers, kitchen and bath dealers, architects, interior designers, custom home builders and industry partners. This role will be based in the Detroit area.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements a Sales Plan for territory to maximizeproduct line sales opportunities

  • Focuses on and creates business plans at Top Regional Showrooms, K&Bs, Remodelers and Unspecified Builders

  • Presents and implements merchandising (SOD), marketing and promotional programs for assigned accounts

  • Provides superior customer service and maintains regular sales call schedule for assigned accounts (i.e. training calendar, promotion/event schedule, product updates, etc.).

  • Attends and participates in key industry shows such as KBIS and local events

  • Creates and delivers comprehensive presentations and shares best practices to grow advocacy in the showroom

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers at all levels, showroom personnel, purchasing and marketing personnel, as well as top decision makers, by demonstrating a customer focus based on integrity and trust

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships to support Wholesale, K&B, Remodel and Unspecified Builder market activity with all field sales personnel

  • Develops and maintains educational programs aimed at driving residential specifications with key architects, engineers and designers. Works closely with A&D SAM's and other Remodel and Design Managers

  • Delivers bi-annual CEU classes to key stakeholders in the Remodel / USFNC segment

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales, retail, marketing or related experience is required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with all Moen customers, subsidiaries, agents and sales force

  • Listening skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm and endurance

  • Strong presentation skills to individuals and large groups of people (30+)

  • Ability to work unsupervised; will utilize a home office and have a company car

  • Must be flexible to maximize business opportunities as they arise

  • Ability to travel up to 25% and on occasion work non-standard hours for certain events

This position works in close partnership with two Design Directors leading the City's East and West Regions, as well as other Planning Leadership colleagues directing the Strategic Planning, Zoning Innovation and Historic Preservation, Mobility and Administrative divisions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse communities of color and income. Experience collaborating and coordinating engagement with the Mayor's office, City Council, development and business leaders required. Design review experience preferred. Cross-training or experience in at least two professional disciplines also preferred: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Physical Neighborhood Planning, Urban Planning and/or Urban Design. We seek a candidate who will be technically wellprepared, willing to engage with local leaders and community stakeholders and assist our department in creating a participatory model of urban planning, design and development that encourages renewed population growth and ensures every neighborhood has a future. The Design Director - Central Region is responsible for managing the work of dedicated staff experienced in multiple professional design disciplines. Together, the Central Region team advances design excellence in the planning and implementation of major development downtown and in the revitalization of commercial corridors and neighborhoods located in City Council Districts 5 and 6. Examples of Duties Specifically, the Design Director - Central Region will: * Coordinate and supervise the creation of development plans for neighborhood, commercial, business and industrial areas, and historic districts; * Manage Community Benefit Agreements for all developments of more than $7.5 million * Engage deeply in community processes to ensure citizen preferences are addressed * Define areas of staff responsibility. Advise staff in problem-solving. Review and check work. Evaluate proposed design solutions, suggest new or innovative approaches and provide design review * Provide design leadership. Manage design consultant teams, intergovernmental partnerships, private partnerships, operating budgets and project deadlines * Provide public presentations of planning and development proposals and their progress, confer with other city agencies, developers, business, neighborhood and civic groups to determine their reactions to proposals and modifications necessary to obtain approval and support * Articulate and elevate a vision for Detroit neighborhoods that embodies the highest quality of design excellence, sustainable and ecological performance and social equity for all Detroiters.
