Shift will included rotating days off, 12-hour shift, nights, weekends, and holidays may be scheduled.
Position exists to perform maintenance required for treatment plant operations and provide operator relief as necessary in producing potable water for residential, commerical and industrial use.
Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw and finished water during the treatment process.
Determines controls and applies appropriate feed rate of all chemicals required to produce high quality finished water through process control testing and manual or automatic adjustment of specific chemical feed systems.
Determines appropriate settings and adjust agitators and mixers to mix chemicals and treat water during coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation processes.
Cleans bulk and day tanks and backwash filter beds as necessary to maintin control and quality of treatment.
Regulates high service pumps to transfer finished water to distribution mains and maintain adequate system storage volumes. Monitors and adjust master control panel to ensure sufficient control of flow rates, filter loss of head pressure, and water production to supply system demand.
Utilizes, as necessary, telemetry systems to monitor distribution tank levels and systems pressures. Monitors and adjusts booster pumps, pressure reducing valves and other required equipment to maintain system effectiveness in the deliver of finished water.
Lubricates, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Maintains chemical feed systems and other pumping equipment throughout the process.
Tests water samples at various stages of treatment to determine appropriate levels of necessary constituents through the use of laboratory equipment.
Maintains proper volume of chemicals and solutions require to provide complete treatement of source water and produce finished water that meets or exceeds all prescribed regularly contaminant levels.
Records required data, such as residual content of chemicals, turbidity, pressure, tank levels and flow rates to the daily operational log.
Knowledge / Skills
Must have basic geographical knowledge of company's service area and must be adaptable to variations in topography and weather conditions.
Working knowledge of company policies, procedures and safety practices.
Basic computer skills.

Experience / Education
Licenses & Certifications
Must maintain valid drivers' license and safe driving record;
Must have a West Virginia Class III Operator license (water)
Both indoor and outdoor work environment.
