Be a member of a Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety team committed to project success in a challenging and dynamic aerospace environment. You will participate with a cross-functional project team of engineers to design and develop aerospace avionics components and systems. Your efforts will ensure reliable product performance and safe operation of federated and integrated systems for Honeywell's customers.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Learn to use business systems and analysis tools to analyze, predict, and improve aerospace hardware equipment for multiple aerospace applications in avionics and flight controls.

  • Engineer systems to meet requirements of industrial and governmental guidelines including FAA, DOD, SAE, ARINC, and MIL Handbooks.

  • Work with cross-functional team members, providing engineering support to resolve technical problems of known and unknown natures.
    25 Apply prescriptive methodology to project tasks 25 Collaborate with engineering teams 25 Prepare or update reports 25 Communicate non-compliance incidents

YOU MUST HAVE:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Must have graduated, from an accredited college or university, since August 2018, or will graduate by August 2019

Due to program requirements, must be a US citizen or permanent resident

Understands all the elements of system safety engineering to include hazard analyses, hazard categorization (in terms of severity and likelihood), end effects, causal analyses, mitigation requirements identification, documentation, tracking and implementing, and residual risk assessment. Typically interfaces with hardware and software design engineering and test engineering to include Integrated Product Teams (IPT). Typical analyses performed include: functional analyses, hazard analyses, safety requirements analyses, hazard mitigation, safety risk assessments, reliability analyses, and system residual risk assessments. Reviews and evaluates systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety. Confirms design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verifies implementation as appropriate. Performs minimal safety program management tasks including progress reports and tracking schedules. Ancillary duties include tasks associated with directed energy (laser) safety, and test range safety. Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Qualifications: Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
