Your responsibilities

The Reliability Engineer is an integral part of the maintenance team. This position is responsible for data analysis to achieve and maintain machine uptime goals for all production equipment. This person is responsible to use advanced analysis tools to determine machine failure rates along with development and deployment of a reliability program. This person works to improve production and quality targets and to provide the appropriate reliability engineering support.

Your profile

  • Responsible for the following key performance indicators:

  • Improved unplanned downtime of production machinery

  • Optimization of critical spare part list of every line in production

  • Evaluates and collaborates with the maintenance department short-term, mid-term and long-term maintenance plans, based on a thorough understanding of equipment requirements and resource availability.

  • Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and controls.

  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes:

  • Value-added preventive maintenance tasks

  • Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems

  • Develops a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related risks that could adversely affect plant operation.

  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility the Reliability Engineer applies:

  • Data analysis techniques that can include:

  • Statistical Process Control

  • Reliability modeling and prediction

  • Fault Tree Analysis

  • Six Sigma (6) Methodology

  • Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis

  • Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System

  • Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions along with standardization of like spare parts to reduce number of spare parts needed.

  • Monitors and performs trend analysis on spare part cost and actively works on reducing costs.

  • Maintains list of obsolete machine components.

  • Works with area manufacturing engineering teams to develop plans for upgrading of obsolete parts and equipment.

  • Perform routine inspection and revisions of maintenance tasks and provides feedback to the maintenance team.

  • Leads the continuous improvement cycle with the preventative maintenance process.

  • Design and implementation of engineering modifications to improve equipment and process robustness.

  • Performs return on investment calculations for projects to prove out its value.

  • Makes recommendations to process engineering group for potential major engineering modifications.

  • Evaluate spare parts, supplier, quantity, and timing requirements.

  • Works to define and implement action plan items and Poke Yoke systems to improve machine reliability.

  • Develops project and resource planning for reliability projects of current and new equipment.

  • Involvement in purchasing of new equipment with process engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified equipment.

  • Maintain, support, and verify established 6S standards for respective work area.

These responsibilities include maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of all Production related machinery, mechanical systems, and control sub-systems while maintaining the highest safety standards and best work practices. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and scheduling of the Production Preventative Maintenance Program and the Maintenance Reliability Technicians. This position is responsible for the reliability of Production related machinery and will support the TPM process throughout the plant. This position requires a strong commitment to safety. Your profileEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. * Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same. * Ability to effectively communicate and record concepts, instructions, and definitions * Participate in new hire interviews and selection * Overseeing the Reliability Maintenance Team * Train Production Support staff and Technicians the detailed specifics of maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment as defined in the TPM process. * Work individually or within cross-functional teams in order to perform all necessary duties, maintenance, and rebuilds * Prepares and administers internal new-hire training for the Maintenance and Production Departments in regards to TPM and Autonomous maintenance. * Coaches and councils team members to ensure improved performance * Create and Maintain PM and wear parts lists for individual equipment assets * Communicate with Logistics and Production to ensure appropriate scheduling of maintenance tasks according to the most current procedures. * Continual improvement and increased effectiveness of the Preventative/Reliability Maintenance Program by coordinating efforts and analysis with the Reliability Engineer. * Accurately able to diagnose equipment problems, implement appropriate solutions and affirm continued effectiveness of repairs and maintenance. * Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery in breakdown situations when necessary * Maintain labor and work history reporting into CMMS work-order forms accurately and descriptively on a daily basis. * Read and understand engineering drawings and schematics for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. * Respond to both internal and external customers with a sense of urgency and professionalism. * Participate in TPM implantation throughout the plant using the 5 step module. * Lead the development and continuous updates to work instructions and maintenance procedures. * Obtain supplier training for new and existing equipment that may require out-of-state or overseas travel. * Maintain high housekeeping and 6S standards at all times and in all areas including the workshop, personal toolbox and Production equipment during and at completion of all tasks. * Generate part lists for ordering workshop consumables, tooling, spare and wear parts. * Must be able and willing to support a 24/7 Maintenance operation through on-call, overtime, Holiday and nightshift scheduling. * Has authority to stop processes to correct quality, safety or environmental problems, identify and place suspect product on quality hold, and to promptly notify Supervisory personnel when processes become noncompliant. * Must be able to utilize advanced Predictive Maintenance tools. Such as Thermography, vibration analysis, and ultra-sonic detection. * Oversees all Fluid testing and analysis of samples and take the necessary corrective actions when results are negative. Help maintain all fluid systems, including cooling towers.
