Job Description:

Summary:

Identify the proactive maintenance requirements for assets to increase plant productivity, maximize reliability performance in a sustainable way and to capture all opportunities for process improvement while reducing total costs. This will be achieved through criticality study, implementation of an equipment reliability strategy, evaluation of proactive work results, follow up on any failure along with a formal Root Cause Failure Analysis for defect elimination.

Essential Functions:

  • Own equipment maintenance strategy efforts

  • Manage Asset Criticality

  • Communicate and act to mitigate asset performance risks

  • Lead FMEA efforts

  • Conduct Value Analysis for repair/replace, repair/redesign

  • Lead efforts for asset health analysis and improvement actions

  • Capital Project support to ensure reliability and maintainability on new equipment

  • Partner in root cause problem solving on equipment failures

  • Work closely with process engineer to identify solution and generate corrective action plan for defect elimination

  • Responsible for maintenance KPI's

  • Analyze and report maintenance data to determine focus areas and generate actions to improve reliability

  • Identify and own PPI projects and cost savings initiatives

  • Promote a safe working environment and safely conduct work in the plant.

  • Develop, implement, administer and refine site wide predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Defect elimination through engineering solutions

  • Define, design, develop, monitor, and refine maintenance strategies to include value-added preventative maintenance tasks

  • Work with Process and Site Engineering to identify and establish reliability best practices associated with our processing equipment

  • Support operations and manufacturing support through troubleshooting efforts

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (industrial, manufacturing, electrical and mechanical engineering)
  • CMRP preferred

Experience:

  • 3 years of engineering/operations experience preferred

  • Root Cause Analysis and FMEA experience preferred

  • Experience working with CMMS

Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, planning and time management,

  • Experienced with CMMS (Maximo)

  • Strong working proficiency of Microsoft applications, such as Excel

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.

  • The desire to progress, learn, grow, and succeed.

  • Advocate for change and process improvements

  • Working knowledge of related pharmaceutical equipment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to approach tasks and projects with a sense of urgency

  • Capable of working cross functionally and adjusting priorities to fit the business need

VIEW JOBS 10/16/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-14T00:00 Overview The Reliability Engineer is responsible for supporting day-to-day plant packaging operations to ensure the reliability, operation and maintainability of existing and new equipment installations in the manufacturing environment. The Reliability Engineer works to identify, oversee and mitigate asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant operations. Additionally this position will support capital improvement efforts within the packaging department. Responsibilities * Monitor & analyze equipment performance trends & diagnostic testing results. Execute countermeasures to breakdowns improving preventative upkeep of equipment and decreasing mechanical/electrical failures. * Manage 1st shift Packaging Reliability Leader / Craft Technician team, 8 - 10 hourly employees (Craft Techs) and 1 Lead * Manage performance and conduct performance appraisals * Support Craft Technicians with equipment inspections to identify the cause of equipment errors, problems or defects * Lead / support capital improvement efforts within the packaging department. * Participate in design reviews & support installation of new asset & modification of existing asset projects as necessary. * Ensure equipment servicing, repairing, adjusting and testing are maintained and repairs are completed safely and in a timely manner. * Order parts and schedule work/repairs as needed * Conducts and participates in recruiting, interviewing & hiring processes as well as terminations. * Conducts performance evaluations and completes necessary documentation of performance issues, collaborates with HR on disciplinary needs. * Direct Craft Techs to achieve shift and departmental targets. Qualifications * BS in Engineering is preferred. Minimum of Associates degree or Trade School/Certification in Engineering/Mechanical/Electrical/Maintenance discipline. * Demonstrated knowledge of packaging and assembly equipment, e.g. high speed fillers, case erectors, bottle loaders & orienters, cappers, pump placers, check weighers, cartoners, palletizers, etc. * Proven successful leadership and managerial skills is desired * Minimum 1-2 years of packaging equipment and operations experience in consumer products, pharmaceutical or food/beverage industry * Some mechanical and electrical competency * Able to: * Successfully balance the needs of the company (quick reaction, short runs, and multiple changeovers) with the preferences of the department (fixed schedules, long runs, few changeovers) * Motivate a workforce to embrace safety and quality awareness and follow regulations and procedures. * Drive workforce to identify and implement improvements - cost, quality, safety * Manage workforce to complete all assigned equipment repair and preventative maintenance as trained KAO Cincinnati OH
