Position Overview:
The Reliability Engineer position will evaluate and improve reliability and performance across all Tallgrass operating assets.
The objective of the Reliability Engineer is to improve safety, reliability, and uptime by applying the most cost-effective maintenance strategies across Tallgrass operated assets. This individual will be part of the Maintenance Strategies team and work closely with Operational Technology, Engineering, and Field Operations to develop and continuously improve the life cycle asset management plan.
Primary Purpose:
Design maintenance programs to improve equipment operability and efficiency while minimizing life cycle costs.
Assist with the implementation of maintenance and reliability strategies into Tallgrass's corporate computerized maintenance management system, Maximo.
Determine probability of failures and multiple failures, calculating required frequency of functional checks in order to meet tolerable levels of risk
Provide systems reliability and maintainability feedback to the Engineering teams for future design considerations.
Assist with application of maintenance and reliability best practices
Develop the application of predictive technologies utilizing vibration analysis, ultra-sonics, thermography, PdMA, oil analysis, corrosion detection, dissolved gas analysis, etc.
Participate in Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) studies on new projects and existing infrastructure.
Facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses across simple to very complex systems
Support continuous improvement of equipment data collection and hierarchy, especially as it pertains to reliability and maintenance.
Develop KPI's to quantify asset performance across Tallgrass systems
Conduct equipment condition assessments
Define equipment criticality
Conduct root cause failure analyses and lead development of corrective actions
Develop critical spare parts strategies across multiple assets
Assist with implementing computerized maintenance management systems
Minimum requirements:
Position may be filled as Engineer II, Engineer III, or Engineer Sr pending candidate experience.
Education:
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
5+ years of experience in an industrial process operations setting with focus on asset reliability.
Strong understand of midstream crude oil and natural gas operations and maintenance.
Understanding of compression and pump station facilities in pipeline transport applications.
Understanding of reliability concepts for both mechanical and electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in an industrial process operations setting with focus on asset reliability.
Working knowledge and use of SEEQ analytical software tools.
Familiarity with ISO 14224 standard regarding collection and interpretation of equipment data
Strong background and experience with design and operation of large scale rotating equipment.
