Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer reporting to the Maintenance Manager will work to drive out top losses on a 24-hour cycle. The position uses continuous improvement tools, leadership skills, and is responsible for fostering a team environment. The reliability engineer is responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses and building capability in Operating Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall line performance. This position is in our Spencer, WI manufacturing facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive standard practices around preventative and predictive maintenance process.

  • Maintain a high level of effectiveness around CMMS and spare parts availability, ensure equipment maintenance strategies and reliability standards are in place for the Spencer, WI facilities.

  • Drive reduction in unplanned down time, discovery work and repeat events (incidents and near miss) therefore reducing overall life cycle cost and increasing operating profit.

  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance issues.

  • Define and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for measuring progress.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science or related) and 5+ years of experience in an Industrial Manufacturing setting OR an Associate's degree in Engineering or related field and 7+ years of experience in an Industrial Manufacturing setting OR in lieu of degree 9+ years experience in an Industrial Manufacturing setting working closely with the Engineering department.

  • Experience in a Food/Dairy or Chemical Manufacturing environment, developing, leading, and executing proven maintenance reliability programs, management of maintenance budgeting processes, and frontline maintenance leadership.

  • Ability to develop strategic partnerships across the company and with third party contractors to increase overall reliability.

  • Strong understanding of industrial, mechanical, and electrical technologies.

  • Proficient with SMMS and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Thorough mechanical, solid electrical and controls knowledge of all lines supported.

  • Understanding of process and follows quality guidelines (GMP's HACCP, etc.).

Competencies Skills Required:

  • Must be able to work with others in such a manner to promote positive outcomes and attitudes among fellow employees.

  • The desire to make a meaningful difference. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Strong analytical, leadership and communication (both written and verbal) skills, excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Effectively communicate strategy, goals and results across the organization as it relates to maintenance and within the maintenance organization.

  • Labor Relations and union experience highly desired.

Note: This role may require off shift hours, weekend or holidays as required.
