Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Reliability Engineer in our Cleburne, TX plant. The Cleburne Facility produces high volumes of quality blow wool insulation for contractors and retail customers.


  • Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements Drive TPM and improving reliability of production equipment efforts.

  • Drive TPM and improving reliability of production equipment efforts.

  • Manage predictive maintenance program including Thermal Scanning, Ultrasonic, Vibration monitoring to ensure compliance to established standards.

  • Develop reliability program, define metrics and develop training plan.

  • Lead maintenance planning and process procedure improvements via reliability tools.

  • Hands-on facilitation of RCA events.

  • Performing and leading FMEA's.

  • Review and manage contractor proposals to ensure compliance to reliability program and provide process equipment testing oversight.

  • Review Engineering specs and design modification to process equipment for reliability capability.

  • Provide "design for reliability" input to capital projects.

  • Partner with members of the Maintenance, Engineering and Environmental teams to ensure Best Maintenance Practices are employed.

  • Ensures equipment upkeep, safety issues addressed and maintained, facilities function as planned to avoid downtime and scrap.

  • Identifies needs for major equipment repair and replacement, keeping in mind opportunities for improvement in efficiency, costs, environmental stewardship and safety.

  • Participates in meetings/calls to share information between plants/facilities and within the Cleburne Plant.

  • Develops and implements preventive and predictive maintenance program(s) to JM standards to improve reliability and uptime.

  • Maintains metrics related to asset care and reliability.

  • Travel as needed to accomplish above duties.

  • Support 24/7 operation

  • Ensures all training and policies are maintained and executed.


  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance, plant, or reliability engineering experience in continuous manufacturing environment.

  • Proven history of continual improvement accomplishments.

  • Working knowledge of TPM, root cause analysis, predictive and preventive maintenance systems, and visual plant concepts.

  • Excellent communications, organizational, teamwork, and computer skills

  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals in team based environment.

  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience would be a plus.

  • CRE certification is a plus.

  • Strong leadership skills that includes a strong sense of ownership.

<li>Prepare capital project proposals including scope documents, designs, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, project justifications and support documentation.</li> <li>Design, integrate and install new control systems into existing equipment infrastructure.</li> <li>Manage existing PLC, HMI and Variable Speed Drive systems on existing manufacturing equipment, primarily working with Allen Bradley components.</li> <li>Maintain existing control system hardware and provide upgrade strategy for control system software revisions.</li> <li>Coordinate and manage external engineering resources and consultants as needed.</li> <li>Provide power, electrical & control systems engineering for all aspects of projects.</li> <li>Assist Corporate Electrical resources with review and implementation of Corporate Specifications and Standards.</li> <li>Assist facility with manufacturing operations as well as execution of electrical safety initiatives.</li> <li>Assist maintenance in troubleshooting controls system problems in a 24 hour a day 7 day a week operation.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with technical specifications and contracts for equipment and services for all aspects of projects.</li> <li>Maintain good communication to management and project customers regarding project status, schedules, and budget status.</li> <li>Coordinate and manage supplier and contractor activities for all aspects of projects, including the commissioning, startup, and training for plant personnel.</li> <li>Develop job specific request documentation, supplier lists, quote evaluations and make development of corrective action plans.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering</li> <li>5 -10 years of experience in control systems engineering in a continuous and/or discrete manufacturing environment.</li> <li>Must have exceptional communication skills having the ability to work with all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Demonstrated electrical and control system engineering capabilities.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in the engineering and implementation of 480V (Switchgear, Power Distribution Panel, Motor Control Center) and 4160V Power Distribution Systems.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to provide complex and innovative solutions to project and process engineering problems.</li> <li>Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications (including programming) along with communications within enterprise and control networked systems.</li> <li>Demonstrated project management skills</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge in the application of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace -- arc flash energy and shock hazards.</li> <li>Ability to manage and support multiple
