Safran is an international high-technology group, operating in the aircraft propulsion and equipment, space and defense markets. Safran has a global presence, with more than 58,000 employees and sales of 16.5 billion euros in 2017. Working alone or in partnership, Safran holds world or European leadership positions in its core markets. Safran is listed on the Euronext Paris stock exchange, and is part of the CAC 40 and Euro Stoxx 50 indices.
In February 2018, Safran took control of Zodiac Aerospace, significantly expanding its aircraft equipment activities. Together with Zodiac Aerospace, Safran has more than 91,000 employees and would have around EUR 21 billion in adjusted revenue (pro forma 2016).
Safran is ranked among the Top 100 Global Innovators by Thomson Reuters and is featured on the "Happy at work" rankings. The Group places fourth on the Universum ranking for the favorite companies of newly-qualified engineers in France.
Safran Seats is a world leader in aircraft passenger and crew seats. One million seats made by the company are now in service worldwide.
POSITION NOT ELIGIBLE FOR VISA SPONSORSHIP
The reliability engineer is dedicated to using fundamental failure analysis methodologies to derive root cause of repetitive/cyclic failures observed during the life cycle of aircraft seat assemblies and seat sub-components and define tests to detect and design out these failures in the future. The reliability engineer also establishes reliability, maintainability and availability predictions and forecast mean time to failure in order to guarantee design functionality.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
Define lifecycle acceptance criteria for seat components and mechanisms.
Assessment of existing reliability test methodologies, procedures and specifications.
DoE to develop test plan methods and set ups to ensure product robustness and performance.
Replicate product malfunctions under control conditions for failure diagnosis.
Oversee Accelerated Stress Testing (AST).
Build reliability prediction models to evaluate product functionality.
Perform statistics and probability analysis for Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA).
Anticipate reliability related risks for Risk Assessment.
Contribute to developing engineering solutions to failures observed during the life cycle of seats and seats components.
Work in conjunction with other engineering and management groups (e.g. Design Engineering, Certification Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Fabrication, Operations, and Field representatives).
Provide feedback to new product development and design engineering.
Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring of department personnel.
Consults cross-functionally, providing expertise to address issues and improve product reliability.
Engage with end-user customers to address reliability issues and expectations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
