Replacing coal with sustainably produced wood biomass fuels is widely recognized by governments, researchers and NGOs as a cost effective renewable energy option, rapidly reducing lifecycle emissions of carbon dioxide and emissions of other harmful pollutants associated with energy generation. Enviva has been supplying wood chips and wood pellets to customers in the United States and Europe since 2007. The company owns numerous six wood pellet manufacturing facilities throughout the Southeast in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida and owns or contracts port facilities in Chesapeake, Virginia, Panama City, Florida. Enviva is currently developing additional facilities and ports to support its rapidly expanding sales.
The Reliability Engineer - Conveyor Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert for conveyors used throughout the pellet making process and product distribution for multiple manufacturing sites and port locations. This scope of work will include various conveyance types (chain, drag, and belt conveyors) as well as conveyor structures and all sub components and materials (e.g. bearings and grease). This specialist will be the key resource in leading root cause problem solving analyses, developing counter measures and working with engineering and local maintenance teams to implement actions that reduce unplanned downtime.
Using the Four Pillars of Operational Discipline and the Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) framework this position is responsible for (5) key deliverables
By manufacturing site and port, develop and maintain maps of all conveyance equipment that categorizes by type/variation/application, identifies failure risks, and prioritizes actionable needs (e.g. PM improvements, replacement).
