JOB SUMMARY

Reliability Engineers are responsible for the function and reliability of bottling and winery equipment. The position is responsible for ensuring that production demands are met by identifying and resolving any equipment or process issues that contribute to equipment downtime or inefficiency. Safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency (OEE) are the key metrics by which job performance is measured. Reliability Engineers must be able to create and sustain sustainable work structures and processes for equipment and team members. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, trouble-shooting skills, and an aptitude for working with Bottling and Winery equipment and software are required. Hours typical of reliability engineer will vary as the facility operates a 3-shift production schedule. It is expected that a reliability engineer is available to support any shift as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Willingness and desire to take complete ownership of the performance for their area of focus, making sure that all necessary actions are taken to drive the equipment to the established milestones.

  • Creation of job standards and SOPs for bottling lines and winery equipment. Ability to train standards to hourly and salary team members.

  • Ability to validate job standards and SOPs are being followed across all job functions. Ability to coach and give feedback to team members at all levels if standards are not being followed.

  • Must be able to effectively prioritize time and resources to meet short-term and long-term goals.

  • Responsible for reliability standards and validation of standards across multiple different departments.

  • Responsible for knowing operation KPI's and accountable for meeting KPI standards.

  • Able to observe, collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends that aid in the reliability and optimization of equipment and processes. Utilizing analyzed data to establish priorities and decisions.

  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity and independently act upon them within operational boundaries.

  • Evaluate manufacturing systems, equipment, components, and have the ability to systematically troubleshoot to determine the root cause.

  • Train and guide Operators on equipment operation, maintenance or repair issues including in-depth troubleshooting methodology.

  • Coordinate planned maintenance in cooperation with Operations across multiple departments.

  • Evaluate and improve PM processes and systems to increase equipment reliability across multiple departments.

  • Expected to work with operators to mentor, encourage, and enable their development.

  • Track first pass quality and complete root cause analysis on all quality non-conformances that are equipment related.

  • Validate repairs, upgrades and modifications are completed correctly and in appropriate time frames.

  • Spend up to 50-75% of time on the floor.

  • Ability to support 24-hour production on an as-needed basis.

  • Reliability Engineer 1 must be able support project managers on capital projects.

  • Support equipment and material test plans as required.

  • Accountable for the equipment part spend being within budgeted amount.

  • Reliability Engineer 1 will be focused on a specific department.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Set personal goals with measurable results and report progress with management.

  • Recommend and validate changes in work methods, process, and equipment to reduce cost and/or improve quality.

  • Maintain a close working relationship with Technical Operations, Production Planning, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Shipping and Cellar Operations.

  • Make recommendations for projects that directly improve OEE and reliability.

  • Create and maintain a work structure that is sustainable and repeatable with the people and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a self-starter with the innate curiosity of mechanical process, automation, and controls with an ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering is preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude is required.

  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification is preferred.

  • Ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a production setting.

  • Must be self-directed and able to determine priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in a team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.

  • Knowledge of MS Office, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.

  • Must be able to read technical drawings and specifications of electrical and mechanical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards.

  • Must have excellent communication skills in written/verbal English.

  • Support and embrace all the company procedures and policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Working environment has exposure to both indoors and outdoors and related warehouse/production equipment and associated noise levels.

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks in the warehouse/production environment.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

COMPENSATION

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $80,000 - $120,000
  • Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
