Our site is also a key supplier to the Food & Beverage markets. The Newark N&B Site has an exciting opportunity to support the reliability improvement initiative.

The Reliability Engineer should have a good working knowledge of maintenance, reliability, and mechanical integrity best practices. Under direction from the MIQA lead and in conjunction with the Maintenance Leader, this individual will provide support to the maintenance organization, leading MIQA improvement efforts to increase overall asset utilization. Individual must be able to analyze data across multiple systems to identify opportunities and drive improvements to the assets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintenance department goals to implement DuPont Core Values and Food Safety Guidelines

  • Maintain plant utilities including boiler, natural gas, water, and compressed air

  • Provide technical expertise to analyze data to quantify impacts to site, prioritize bad actors, and report metrics

  • Lead or participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) or incident investigations

  • Lead implementation of DuPont MIQA standards for prescriptive and PSM critical items

  • Proactively network with other DuPont Engineering technical disciplines (e.g., Consultants for Materials, Engineering Mechanics, Instruments & Process Controls, Electrical and Energy), plant and business personnel, and suppliers and contractors to improve reliability and maintain compliance

  • Develop engineering solutions for chronic and sporadic equipment reliability problems and collaborate with technical, operations, and maintenance to implement solutions

  • Participate in capital project reviews with focus on MIQA, maintainability, verification that installation plan meets OEM recommendations or basic installation practicies, equipment life cycle costs, and documentation requirements

  • Excellent organiational skills and ability to sort through, verify relevance and accuracy, and file equipment documentation

  • Support maintenance personnel during equipment overhauls and outages

  • Develop and review maintenance proceedures to ensure that maintenance and repairs are sustained

  • Participate in audits with a focus on MIQA

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Solid written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work as a team member in a respectful manner in a diverse work environment

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills:

  • 5 years or more experience in a chemical/manufacturing plant (or related industry) with a focus on MIQA, reliability, or PSM, preferably in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to consistently solve problems in a decisive and efficient manner

  • Experience using and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and software systems such as SAP, UltraPipe, database/SQL infrastructures, and document control

  • Knowledge of various predictive technologies (i.e. vibration analysis, oil sampling, ultrasonics, thermography)

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certified, experience with 5S, and understanding of lean principles

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-11T00:00 The Maintenance Engineer reports to the Site Maintenance Leader; will provide field technical and engineering support to the Work Execution/Do Work team on a daily basis; will be the focal point and have accountability for the management of the preventative (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance programs; will manage the spare parts stocking program in conjunction with the Material Coordinator; will support the Reliability GMISS program as a technical resource; will be accountable to work with operations on equipment strategies for their critical pieces of equipment; will be a key resource and make effective use of the NEA/Diamond Systems SAP system; will participate in achieving the company quality goals; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned. * Accountability for the execution and administration of the preventative (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance programs (PPM Coordinator Role) * Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions * Ensures repairs, repair techniques, and equipment specific training are documented * Serves as the subject matter expert for equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations * Provides oversight for all offsite equipment repairs * Identifies future equipment repairs of significant value (> $25,000) to be included in the budgeting process * Maintains equipment strategies on critical pieces of equipment for each of the Operations areas * Knowledge of all codes and documents required by SOP * Knowledge of all related equipment such as electrical and pneumatic control systems, motors, drives, heating and ventilating equipment, compressors, pumps, blowers, ovens, shafts/bearings, heat transfer systems, material handling systems, process piping and waste water removal systems * Knowledgeable in the use of mechanical diagnostic equipment and techniques including vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography * Ensures operations meet all Delaware state requirements * Knowledge of setting and aligning all related equipment * Plans, designs, interprets and works from standard and non-standard blueprints and drawings * Ability to recognize conflicts in design prior to work beginning * Ability to specify material needs for job completion Participates in achieving the company quality goals: dedicated to reducing product variation and to the spirit and body of continuous improvement; strives for a better understanding of our customers' requirements; maintains proficiency in problem solving techniques; embraces the concept of teamwork; takes ownership for the quality of the products produced and services performed; and provides excellent internal and external customer service Operates in compliance with company safety practices: complies with and aids in the development of departmental safety rules and procedures; ensures all equipment is in good working order and operates in a safe manner; follows procedures for handling and disposal of chemicals; monitors area for hazards; uses safety equipment when required; and maintains safe, clean work area * 4-year Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required; Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering degree preferred * Minimum 1 year experience. Electrical experience is also desired but not required.
