POSITION SUMMARY

Express Scripts is seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Release Process Engineer for the Release and Change Operations organization. The team acts as a central point of change planning and coordination for application and infrastructure deployments. They ensure adherence to change management practices, release processes, audit policies, and change window planning while identifying and implementing process improvements to increase reliability and speed to market. Their focus is proactively mitigating risks to the production environments and leading strategic imperatives for enabling the quick and safe delivery of value generating capabilities to the market. This person will be an individual contributor and will work with the internal team along with multiple IT process owners and disciplines, ranging from Service Assurance to Change, Incident Management, Infrastructure, Security, and Software Engineering teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • General knowledge of ITIL processes and understands relationships amongst ITSM modules

  • Working knowledge of ITSM & ITOM Tooling

  • Strong reporting and presentation skills

  • Agile/Lean/DevOps mindset focused on continuous improvement, self-organizing teams, and extreme ownership

  • Solid performer with minimal supervision, coaching and feedback

  • Functions well in large-scale, complex, environment

  • Serve as process SME for Release Management team, providing direction on software and infrastructure release best practices and driving more efficient and reliable outcomes through implementing strategic objectives.

  • Ensuring adherence to internal best practices, release processes, audit policies, and change window planning activities.

  • Focus on process automation and optimization with built-in adherence to internal controls.

  • Develop data points and key metrics to evaluate operational effectiveness and efficiency and propose service improvements.

  • Lead post implementation reviews and drive positive changes with partner teams as appropriate to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Lead the team through continuous improvement and agile transformation.

  • Build partnership with Infrastructure and Software engineering teams, command center, and support teams.

  • Continuously influencing positive change in culture.

  • Responsible for awareness improve socialization and brand recognition, value attainment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8-12 years relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree; 6-10 years of experience with Master's degree; 4-8 years of experience with PhD.; 14-8 years of experience without Bachelor's degree.

  • College degree in Engineering, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience working with Software Engineering teams

  • Strong ITIL foundation awareness1

  • Experience with Agile methodologies strongly desired

  • Broad knowledge of IT Infrastructure and major application architectures

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to deliver essential functions

  • Ability to meet and balance multiple deadlines

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions

  • Process and governance oriented

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong customer service focus

  • Measurement/metrics oriented with continuous improvement mindset

  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must

  • Knowledge of PBM, healthcare industry helpful
