Summary

• This position ensures the data integrity and accurate disclosure of Medical Center, Mosaic Life Care and LTACH patient medical information

• This position works under the supervision of the Manager-HIS Clerical and is employed by Mosaic Health System.

Duties

• Remains knowledgeable of HIPAA, Federal and State requirements for release of information.

• Remains knowledgeable regarding contractual requirements with payers regarding access to medical records.

• Researches multiple systems to retrieve clinical information from multiple locations, including microfilm, paper and electronic format per compliance guidelines.

• Safeguards and protects the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to patient's medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the requests, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations.

• Performs notary duties.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
