Description:A Release Train Engineer is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART), comprising of four or more agile teams. The RTE's major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement. The RTE is responsible for partnering with the Program Manager, Solution Architect and others regarding the planning, sizing and prioritization of the program backlog.
The RTE will fulfill the following responsibilities:
Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using the Program Kanban and other information radiators
Assist tracking the execution of features
Facilitate periodic ART synchronization meetings
Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary
Work with Agile coaches to help leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters understand Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
Proven ability to identify and elevate resource concerns to avoid critical bottlenecks
Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects/Engineering
Work with the Product Manager, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
Drive continuous improvement; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve
This position requires a TS/SCI level clearance with a final secret required to start.
Experience working with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (Jira, Rally, VersionOne)
Agile Release Train Engineer, Agile Coach or Scrum Master experience preferred
Experience with Kanban, Scrum, XP, SAFe, organizational change management desired
Scaled Agile certification desired: SAFe Agilist (SA), RTE, or SPC
