Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Software Release Manager with a strong background in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices. This individual will play a critical role in managing the release lifecycle, transitioning our organization from a traditional train release process to an agile CI/CD model, and ensuring seamless deployments across multiple environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CI/CD technologies, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of release management processes.

They will also serve as a JIRA Administrator and Content Manager for our internal site. What you'll be doing CI/CD Implementation and Management: Drive, design and implement a new CI/CD release process tailored to our organizational needs.

Create and maintain deployment standards, and educate teams on methodology and strategy. Facilitate deployment planning meetings and manage timing and coordination of deployments. Validate deployment processes through metrics and ensure all deployment jobs are executed as expected.

Track and manage hotfixes and patches, coordinating emergency releases as necessary through various deployment stages. Oversee the integration of automated test results into the CI/CD pipeline, leveraging tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins, and other relevant technologies. JIRA: Must be proficient in Jira for Release Management.

Build, maintain, and promote key metrics associated with product development through JIRA dashboards and reports. Identify opportunities for tactical improvements in the deployment process and create dashboards and metrics to measure process health. Collaboration & Communication:

Plan and give weekly updates on the release activities and metrics, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of progress and issues. Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, the Site Reliability team (SRE) and occasionally Engineering Directors to gather requirements to move off the train towards implementing a solid CI/CD strategy and drive new initiatives. Conduct meetings to discuss release and deployment needs, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams.

Run Root-Cause Analysis meetings for customer defects and follow through to resolve them. Provide leadership, education, and coaching on best practices in release management and CI/CD processes. Who you are:

Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience. 5 years of experience Proven experience in managing software releases and deployments. Strong background in CI/CD practices with hands-on experience in tools such as CircleCI and Jenkins. Proficiency with JIRA, ScriptRunner, and JIRA API.

Experience with version control tools such as TFS, Accurev, BitBucket. Coding experience with languages such as JavaScript, Powershell, and Groovy. Familiarity with Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, and Google Sites.

Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices. Strong initiative with the ability to create and drive new processes and initiatives. Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct meetings and gather requirements effectively.

Proficient in creating and maintaining dashboards and metrics. Experience running Agile projects of varying size and complexity. Leadership: Strong leader with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of CI/CD processes and tools, with hands-on coding experience. Nice to Have:

Content Management: Ability to manage and present content on an internal site in an engaging and informative manner. JIRA Administrator: ability to provide support, manage plugins, manage configurations, workflows, and custom fields to support SDLC and product activities.
