Description Of Duties
The Release Engineer will contribute to the successful and timely deployment of products by building processes and procedures to package together all elements of the product including: compiled application software, configuration data, sample code/data, and documentation. This includes ETL processes that pull data from sources including claims data, enrollment data and clinical patient applications data.
These processes and procedures will be scripted and may be automated to bring elements together from disparate sources such as: source control systems, file servers, and other repositories. The released product will be packaged in such a way as to ensure consistent and reliable installation and upgrade, and to provide reliable and predictable mechanisms for moving system elements between systems.
The Release Engineer will be part of the Application Support and Integration Team, which is responsible for the support and integration of Commonwealth Care Alliances (CCA) Application Portfolio using CCAs standards & best practices.
CCA's systems have largely grown from a small-company environment to an environment requiring high availability, accessibility, ease of use, technological sophistication, reliability in handling complex data, and large user base. Integration between and among technology layers is vital to maintaining accurate, timely and robust service delivery to our business users, members, and providers. Responsibilities:
Participate in a variety of team projects including:
Maintain and improve installation scripts for Linux, VMS, Windows. Managing machine environments, policies, security and access controls.
Maintaining and enhancing internal applications.
Standardize, maintain and enhance Source Code Management capabilities. Provide oversight for Change Control Management. Work with IT and project teams to evolve Standard Operating Practice (SOP) for development and maintenance.
Work collaboratively with a team of integration engineering professionals, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts to deploy applications and integrations to enhance and streamline operations for users and departments. Write and maintain technical procedures and documentation for the application deployments and support. Work closely with business users and project managers to review business requirements and develop and recommend technical designs that meet these needs.
Track, monitor, and close production support issues escalated from the help desk; document activities and solutions. Provide emergency support as necessary including after-hours. Troubleshoot issues identified during the delivery of new or existing systems and resolve them in a timely manner.
Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes. Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective deployment of applications and information technology.
