Rockland Trust is currently seeking an Asset Based Lending Relationship Manager/Loan Officer for our Brockton Location.

The essential functions of this role include:

  • Participates in soliciting, underwriting , structuring and managing both new and existing business for the ABL Division

  • Prepares loan packages for loan approval, including submission for Senior Loan Approval Committee.

  • Acts as a Credit and Lending Professional in pre-screening new business for appropriateness, structure and offer a key opinion to continue to solicit an opportunity for the Division

  • Actively manages a portfolio of assigned ABL Loans and is the full relationship manager for those exposures. The incumbent is fully responsible for growing the assigned portfolio, cross-selling bank products and nurturing customer relationships.

  • Prepares credit analysis in accordance with credit policy for both new and existing relationships with special emphasis on credit policy exception, appropriate loan ratings and LPSS accuracy.

  • Actively participates in the new business effort for the Division by making joint calls with the new business officers on Prospects

  • Develops a network of referral sources and outsource partners to support the new business effort and when time is available makes calls to centers of influences and other contacts to contribute to the new business effort

  • Participates actively in Industry Events and educational programs to help market the Rockland Brand

  • Actively participates in the loan closing process and on-boarding of new customers

  • Works with Regional Manager on various projects around credit and new business and performs other duties as directed.

Required Skills:

  • The candidate shall possess the ability to make lending recommendations, which are based on their analysis of the business' financial condition, cash flow, capacity, collateral and its ability to repay.

  • Ability to interview loan applicants to develop information concerning their business, needs, abilities and earning to determine whether the loan would be an acceptable risk to the Bank.

  • The candidate is trained in managing an ABL portfolio of loans and understands all of the concepts unique to ABL Loans. While further demonstrating a skill set consistent with a Credit Professional

  • Ability to work as a key team member to help grow the ABL Division at Rockland.

Required Experience:

  • Formal Credit Training

  • 2 to 5 Years of prior ABL Underwriting and Portfolio Management experience at a Bank.

  • Prior direct underwriting experience for ABL preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.

VIEW JOBS 4/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-09T00:00 Overview Reporting directly to the VP Credit and Risk Officer this position will be assessing and reporting the performance of the commercial portfolio. This individual will partner with lenders, the C & I and CRE Credit Officers as a key credit resources, the in the review of exiting loan within the portfolio, and in developing and executing workout strategies on problem assets. This individual shall also assist in the development and training of Credit staff.. Responsibilities Performs regular loan portfolio reviews based on risk and/or size of all commercial credit types that cover the following areas: * Asset Quality - Ensuring that acceptable credit standards are maintained (confirms lien perfection, repayment capacity, collateral, etc.) * Documentation - Ensuring that loans conform to established bank lending policies and procedures and that required documents have been obtained and are thorough and accurate * Compliance - Ensuring conformance to relevant state and federal laws and regulations * Ensures the creditworthiness of the loan portfolio, looking for changes that merit a review of lending practices and/or adverse asset classification. * Validates the accuracy of the credit grading / loan rating system Evaluates the allowance for loan loss methods/reserves/allocations/watch list• Identifies problem loans and describes deficiencies Recommends final credit grades for approval Provides detailed reasons/rationale for assigning differing and/or adverse risk ratings• Identifies and evaluates portfolio trends with respect to delinquency, bankruptcy, demographic and other factors * Monitors portfolio diversification in accordance with policy guidance and strategic plan * Stress tests the loan portfolio or individual loans for risk monitoring * Reviews bank processes (loan approvals, policy exception reporting, supervisory loan to value limits, underwriting, covenants, internal controls, concentration reporting, ALLL methodology, etc.) * Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of tracking systems * Determines if proper approval procedures and loan authorities are adhered to * Reports trends and/or makes suggestions for changes * Informs management of any potential fraud opportunities and/or detection * Verifies quality, completeness and accuracy of supporting loan documentation and analysis * Periodically reviews files for appraisals, deeds of trust, UCC filings, perfection on liens, collateral evaluations and valuations, etc. * Performs regular back-end review of financials and related analysis (financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls, personal financial statements, cash flow statements, etc.) * Identifies trends, debt service coverage, performance ratio analysis * Reviews loan policy for adequacy * Validates that applicable laws and regulations are addressed by policy * Ensures that actual procedures/processes uphold the written policy * Makes suggestions/recommendation for changes/updates/revisions to policy content * Assesses problem loan management / workout plan effectiveness * Provides assistance and consultation to loan officers, other lending personnel (loan administration, lending assistants, etc.), auditors and regulatory examiners. * Prepares an executive summary of each review and supporting analysis * Creates write-ups for presentation to individual lenders and/or management * Presents findings to Board of Directors as appropriate * Participates in special lending-related projects as directed * Performs additional job related duties as assigned or required COMPLIANCE: Maintain an excellent understanding of applicable regulations and laws including but not limited to; Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; and Fair Lending.
