Job Summary

Support the Bank's commercial real estate lending activities from "cradle to grave".
Job Description

Source new customer relationship opportunities, including;
New loans;
New deposits;
Cross selling bank services and products, including:
Treasury products (e.G. Swaps and caps);
Cash Management;
Private Banking;
Wealth Management investment products.
Analyze new loan opportunities, including:
Collateral property financial modeling;
Collateral property inspection;
Sponsor evaluation;
Guarantor financial strength evaluation;
Preparation of Opportunity Memoranda;
Term sheet preparation and negotiation.
Underwrite new loan opportunities and modifications of existing loans, including:
Prepare internal memoranda and associated analyses;
Interface with Credit Risk Management, Compliance, Credit Administration and senior lending personnel to effect efficient processing of new loan underwriting;
Prepare CRE lending packages for presentation, including appropriate research and analysis, stress testing, spreads, etc.;
Present loan recommendations to the bank's Credit Committee.
Close approved loans, including:
Interface with bank counsel to negotiate loan documents which accurately reflect the terms contained in the approved loan underwritings;
Interface with the bank's Due Diligence department as needed to affect consummation of the third-party consultant reports (e.G. Appraisal, environmental assessment, property condition assessment, etc.)
Interface with the lending area's administrative officer to facilitate the following on the date of closing;
Closing related memoranda/approvals;
Loan boarding;
Application fee reconciliation;
Manage a loan portfolio, including:
Past due loan monitoring and collection;
Maturing loan management;
Loan covenant monitoring and enforcement;
Preparation of annual reviews, including site inspections, for each term loan;
Outstanding document and financial reporting monitoring and collection;
Collateral adequacy monitoring and internal reporting;
Preparation of criticized loan memoranda;
Interface in a courteous, efficient and professional manner with other areas of the bank that support loan and deposit gathering and management, including:
NY Real Estate personnel
Credit Risk Management
Executive officers, particularly the Chief Lending Officer
Loan Operations Department
Credit Administration Department
Deposit Operations Department
Cash Management Department
Compliance Department
Adherence to Compliance matters, including:
Completion of all Compliance testing in a timely manner
Particularly strong KYC skills
Competencies

5+ years commercial real estate lending experience, preferably on a commercial bank platform;
Experience financing term, bridge, line and construction opportunities secured by CRE;
Bachelor/Four-year college degree;
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software suite;
Strong verbal and writing communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and contribute to internal leverage;
Occasional travel required.

We continually establish new standards of excellence in serving a nationwide client base while focusing on the importance of relationships and service. * All candidates must apply online to be considered * All Inquiries about this position, please contact directly Maria Sather in HR NorthMarq Capital Responsibilities: * Organization – Responsible for providing support to New York Metro office through underwriting, loan request/investment report packaging, due diligence, closing, servicing and various support functions. * Planning – Plans and schedules own workload to best utilize time and most efficiently provide commercial real estate research, analysis, packaging, and loan closing services. * Underwriting - Prepares underwriting of commercial real estate properties based on historical financial statements, projections, and market standards to determine a projected income, value and loan amount. * Packaging - Prepares investment reports in compliance with company guidelines and investor requirements. These reports include analysis of the borrower, property, underwriting, valuation, location, market, leases/rent roll, photographs, aerials, maps, etc. * Market Research – Gathers site, neighborhood, and city data including demographics, sales and rent comparables, absorption surveys and occupancy studies. * Closing - Provides loan closing coordination including collecting due diligence items, ordering third party reports, coordinating with all parties including borrowers, lenders and legal counsels, and acting as liaison with the servicing department. * Servicing – Performs regional office servicing functions including annual inspections, investor portfolio analysis, lease reviews/briefs, and normal routine regional office servicing duties through local market knowledge. * Customer Service – Responsible for providing investors and borrowers with prompt quality service in a friendly and professional manner. * Office Administration – Performs office administration including support for all office functions as needed including marketing initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS * Four-year college degree, preferably with major in real estate finance or business administration, MBA degree desirable. * Minimum 3 years' experience in a related field required, Commercial Real Estate Finance experience preferred. * Demonstrated analytical skills and underwriting related experience, preferably with all commercial property types. * Strong computer knowledge and skills including in-depth expert knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and graphic software in relation to real estate. Knowledge of InDesign and ARGUS software a plus. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while under-pressure. * Customer service oriented.
