The mission of the Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services (ODLSS) is to provide high-quality and specially designed instructional supports and services for all diverse learners within the least restrictive environment. ODLSS works collaboratively with several units, specifically schools and Networks, with the goal of improving the academic achievement of all diverse learners by ensuring diverse learners receive meaningful and relevant access to grade-level core instruction within their neighborhood school, school of choice, or the school closest to their residence.
Job Summary:
The Related Service Provider (RSP) Assistant, School Psychology will support the recruitment and retention of school psychologists within the Office of Diverse Learners Supports and Services for Chicago Public Schools. The RSP Assistant,School Psychology will report to the Director, Related Service Providers and collaborate closely with the School Psychology RSP Managers.
The RSP Assistant, School Psychology will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
Organize community-building orientations with school psychologist interns
Engage with current university partnerships and participate in the development of new relationships with universities
Assist School Psychology RSP Managers with administrative support for recruitment and onboarding activities of new school psychologists and interns (E.g., scheduling interviews, printing and organizing candidate and interview materials, preparing reports, etc.)
Consult with school psychology mentors and training supervisors and identify needs to support school psychologists and interns
Aid in communicating district and departmental expectations for training and practicing as a school psychologist
Support the review and approval of benefit day requests
Reach out to universities and alumna to introduce the role of a school psychologist with Chicago Public Schools
Support additional district initiatives related to recruiting and retaining school psychologists
Collaborate with the broader RSP Manager team to support clinical hiring and professional development
Other duties as assigned
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the RSP Assistant, School Psychology must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university, required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferred

Ability to build authentic and trusting relationships with senior stakeholders and university partners, including school psychologists and administrators

Highly organized with a high degree of attention to detail
Ability to produce high-quality work products
Excellent computer skills with a strong working knowledge of, or willingness to quickly learn, Google Workspace (ie: Google Sheets, G-mail, Google Slides, Google Docs, Google Calendars)
Conditions of Employment
As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:
Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 - Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. "Up-to-date" on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
