The rehabilitation technician plays a vital role ensuring patient and team member safety, promoting positive experience, and adherence to regulatory standards. The rehabilitation technician thoroughly cleans/disinfects treatment areas, monitors/prepares supplies for patient care, and assists in administering specific therapeutic treatments to assigned patient population under the direct supervision of a physical/occupational therapist or physical/occupational therapist assistant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Performs various daily cleaning duties of all equipment following patient use, prepares patient room for treatment session, monitors supplies, equipment and linen supplies to adequately maintain clinic environment.

Documents/monitors regulatory processes in the clinic including Joint Commission audits, equipment status, hand hygiene audits, temperature and cleaning logs.
Assists with specific therapeutic treatments to include, but not limited to, transfers, gait training, monitoring of exercises, removing of modality equipment under the direct supervision of PTA/PT as specified in Physical Therapy Ohio Revised Code or COTA/OT as specified in Occupational therapy Ohio Revised Code.
Provides various service functions to include, but not limited to, running errands, answers inquiries, transportation of supplies, equipment, and patients. Assists in emergency situations and reports any unusual occurrences.

Provides effective and timely communication regarding work related concerns to a supervising physical therapist. Consults with lead PT/lead OT when unable to meet the departmental expectations. Communicates successfully with co-workers, patients, physicians, and external public through verbal, non-verbal and written communication.
Shows flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services. Has ability to work in a team environment and to participate in team activities in a manner that contributes positively to the effectiveness and productivity of the overall team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Education level required and preferred, College Degree(s). Differentiate between years of Required Experience and preferred experience. List specific skills required to perform the job.
One Year of experience in hand on patient care preferred.
List required Licensing.
BLS Certification Required

Work is performed indoors/outdoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
