Times New Roman"'> The Physical and Occupational Therapy Clinical Assistant assists with patient related treatments which are predetermined for each patient and assigned by a PT or OT. They provide routine tasks and assist with direct patient care in addition to operational and clerical assistance.

Routine tasks consist of:

Environmental maintenance of equipment, stocking storage rooms with clinician and patient supplies, inventory control, cleaning and maintaining of equipment, maintaining various gym and exercise areas, storage areas, ADL kitchen, ADL apartment, ADL bathrooms and other various OT/PT areas in the Acute Care Area as well as on the Inpatient Rehab Unit.

They provide direct patient care and support the OT, COTA, PT, PTA and Recreational Therapy staff. They take vitals and manage tubes and lines. They complete tasks/activities such as ambulation, walking programs, Restorative Exercise programs predetermined by supervising therapists, transfers, multi-person transfers, exercises, transport of patients to and from department areas, assist with ADL showers and various ADL activities, assist with various group sessions and communicate information to/from nursing and other health care providers regarding therapy sessions, as directed by the therapist.

They may also assist with gathering information for therapists such as rounding with multi-disciplinary team members within the hospital on various units to assist with scheduling and organizing therapist's day or communicating routine information to other

departments within the hospital along with communicating therapy information to patients/families, as appropriate. They also may by be required to report at various Huddles as a representative for the PT/OT Department. The Clinical Assistant may also complete audits for the department in addition to performing other routine tasks

They also provide clerical and operational assistance with functions such as patient scheduling, filing, schedule distribution, copies, scheduling meetings, answering phones and other clerical related activities.

Standard Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required, AHA BLS Certification required, experience with patient scheduling and strong background in Microsoft Excel/Word strongly preferred. Strong customer service behaviors in accordance with our mission

Duties include, but are not limited to; repair and replacement of equipment, assisting Biomed, coordinating with materials management regarding ordering of supplies and assisting with the daily tasks needed. The Supervisor is to manage the job responsibilities and requirements of the ORA's in the OR to maintain the efficiency of daily OR operations and develop and manage a 6 week schedule. To be the lead equipment resource person; to provide education, updates and in-services for all equipment within the OR. To set-up job performance parameters, promote accountability and to facilitate teamwork. To initiate a new system of teamwork ensuring improvement of turnover times as well as scheduling cleaning and maintenance for specific areas in the OR to comply with Regulatory and Joint Commission Standards. The Supervisor will organize daily staff work assignments based on patient and unit priorities. 1. High school diploma, college course work desired. 2. Previous ORA experience. 3. BLS certification. 4. Knowledge of all equipment and positioning devices used within the operating room. 5. Strong computer and PeopleSoft skills. 6.
