Overview

Brooks Rehabilitation is looking for a Psychologist to join Brooks Behavioral Medicine, primarily working with patients who suffer from and acquired brain injury (e.g, traumatic brain injuries, stroke). This position would also require evaluation and treatment of other patients referred by physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors such as individuals with spinal cord injury, amputations, and visual impairments. Brooks Rehabilitation is an extensive system of post-acute services that includes Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, a 157-bed, state-of-the-art, freestanding and fully accredited rehabilitation hospital; over 25 outpatient clinics located throughout the state of Florida; specialty clinics that include behavioral medicine, neuro-rehabilitation day treatment program, concussion program, pain rehabilitation program, and outpatient rehabilitation/medical psychology; a home health service; a skilled nursing unit; two skilled nursing facilities, an assisted living facility, memory care homes operating the GREEN HOUSE model, and an inpatient rehabilitation unit at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. Brooks Rehabilitation offers many community-based services such as an adaptive sports program, neuro-recovery center, brain injury clubhouse, and school re-entry program.

Rehabilitation Psychologist. This psychologist position is located at the Healthcare Plaza Outpatient Clinic. Conducting psychological assessments, delivering treatment and education to patients and families, and collaborating in interdisciplinary treatment planning.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D./Psy.D. from an APA-accredited clinical program, with training conforming to requirements for board certification by ABPP

  • License in the state of Florida (eligible for and in process of obtaining Florida license)

  • Education and experience in behavioral medicine, health psychology or rehabilitation (physical) psychology

  • Experience working with traumatic brain injury patients.

  • 1 year experience in rehabilitation psychology and/or health psychology.

  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary team

  • Completed post doctoral internship

Hours: Full Time; Monday - Friday

This highly motivated/independent individual is responsible for recommending and leading initiatives to achieve superior patient experience consistent across clinics. They will assume the primary role in educating staff on the culture of excellence we expect toward our patients. Another portion of their role consists of documentation/reporting concerns and compliments to outpatient leadership and appropriate team members. Job Responsibilities: * Investigate new technology to enhance the patient experience * Workflow and process improvement initiatives for a consistent care experience * Creating guidelines for consistency around patient experience engagement across clinics, this includes action plans with individual outpatient clinics. * Actively manages and monitors the Patient Satisfaction Surveys, analyzes data, highlights trends and makes recommendations for improvement to leadership. * Coordinates the development and implementation of initiatives, policies and procedures, including staff education activities (A.R.T. of Caring), to improve patient experience. * Acts as a liaison to address patient complaints, ensuring all complaints are formally tracked, routed to the proper department for complete service recovery, and closed. * Travel required to multiple Outpatient sites.
