Nature and Scope
This position provides registration and customer service coverage in the Rehabilitation Services Department at Plumas District Hospital. They assume the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of patient services. Under supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager, the employee in this position is responsible for obtaining/updating patient demographic and insurance information, registration of patient visits, insurance verification and coverage, initiating the authorization process, scanning protected information, collection of co-pays as necessary and notifying Patient Financial Counselors of any self-pay or under insured patients. The employee will have continuous contact with patients, guests, general public, therapists, and hospital staff.
Location
We are located 2077 E. Main Street Quincy, CA 95971 and 127 Crescent St C, Greenville, CA 95947. Must be flexible to be assigned to work in either Greenville or Quincy.
Compensation
Compensation Philosophy: We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience
Compensation Range: $18.00 - $21.84 / hour

Qualifications
Experience
2 or more years' experience in a medical office setting. 1-3 years of customer service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Provide excellent customer service, conflict resolution skills and problem solving. Efficient time management skills and ability to work independently. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems, printer, scanner, fax, and multi-line phone systems. Ability to work competently within Microsoft Word and Excel. Medical terminology and some medical pathology
Must meet physical requirements as stated on job description addendum
Responsibilities
Answer phones
Check and respond to phone messages.
Checking in patients in each visit.
Scheduling patients.
Creating a new "Encounter" for all new patients.
