Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
Greets patients and escorts them to and from treatment areas.
Provides or obtains required information prior to initial treatment and at time of registration.
Escorts patient to treatment area and instructs/assists patient in preparation for treatment.
Notifies staff of patient's location and updates schedule board as necessary.
Cleans and prepares all treatment areas and patient equipment.
Provides clean linens for each treatment and manages linen distribution and removal in a neat and timely way.
Cleans all treatment areas and patient equipment thoroughly and according to departmental standards.
Maintains supplies of equipment, forms, and cleaning and stationery supplies.
Reports when supplies are needed and restocks as appropriate.
Cuts canes accurately and within time frame requested by therapist or provides appropriate device from equipment closet per therapist request.
Monitors functioning of photocopy machine and produces clear photocopies within requested time frames.
Assists with receptionist duties as needed.
Answers telephone in a professional and courteous manner, takes accurate messages, and transfers calls appropriately.
Assists with triaging patients as necessary.
Assists with computerized patient scheduling according to department procedures.
Assists with billing, data collection, and other secretarial responsibilities as needed.
Participates in direct patient care.
Performs individual supervised therapeutic exercise programs with patients following therapist instructions including appropriate use of exercise equipment.
Assists therapists in treatments/modalities requiring two-person assistance.
Performs approved modalities under the direct supervision of the therapist according to departmental procedures.
Required Qualifications
Completed courses or work experience in health/patient care, physical therapy, alternative therapy, or exercise training; preferably with some direct patient care interaction.
Good verbal and interpersonal skills and minimal typing and computer skills, as generally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
