Purpose and Scope:

The Rehabilitation Aide is responsible for the following: transporting assigned patients/materials within the Hospital; performing assigned messenger duties; accurately maintaining the required records and documentation of actions and turning them into designated person promptly; providing back-up coverage and assisting with orienting new employees; assisting other department personnel with moving patient/materials onto/off transportation vehicles as part of transportation activities; responsible for other assigned duties within Rehabilitation as appropriate to a Rehabilitation Aide.

I. Position Requirements:

A. Education: High school graduate or equivalency preferred. Basic Life Support Training recommended.

B. Experience: Previous employment in medical setting preferred.

Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). B. Experience: Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively. Ability to apply elementary math functions. Ability to work well under time constraints. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. II. Position Responsibilities: * Cleans all equipment and surfaces according to departmental procedures and schedules. * Thoroughly scrapes, soaks, washes and sanitizes pots and pans. * Ensures trays, utensils and all equipment are clean prior to placing in service. * Prepares dish room and dish machine prior to use. Loads and unloads dish machine following established procedures. * Logs dish machine temperatures. Ensures dish machine temperatures are in compliance with standards. Notifies supervisor of any deviations. * Removes trash and garbage to disposal area. Cleans trash containers. May be required to operate dish machine, compactor and garbage disposal. * Transports supplies to various areas of the department and facility. * Sweeps and mops kitchen, production, service and cafeteria floors on a routine basis. * May deliver food trucks to floors. May collect trays from patient areas. * May assist in unloading deliveries and placing stock in storeroom or refrigerators/freezers.
