Rehabilitation Aide at Providence Holy Family Hospital

Under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician, the Therapy Aide provides direct and/or indirect assistance in patient care delivery and assists with maintaining a clean and orderly department environment. All employees are expected to be pleasant, respectful and courteous in all interactions with patients, families, staff, and visitors of the Institute, as well as being a positive representative of the hospital at all times.

Shift Details: Per Diem/On-Call, Day Shifts, Weekends Requested 1 Day Every Weekend

Required qualifications:

Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire

Preferred qualification:

1 year of experience working on patient care environment (home care, nursing home, hospital)

Reports any equipment or supply issues to the Staff Nurse for correction or repair.</li><li>Obtains, records, and reports vital signs as indicated during the administration of medications.</li><li>Demonstrates awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal Precautions and following policies and procedures of Avalon, including OSHA's Blood-borne Pathogen Standard.</li><li>Communicates to residents, staff and others in accurate and factual manner and seeks clarification from or refers questions to Staff Nurse when indicated.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and successfully complete a state approved Medication Aide</li></ul><ul><li>Certification (MA-C) Program which includes classroom and facility training, and exam.</li></ul><ul><li>Must be at least 18 years old.</li><li>Must achieve 12 hours of in service education annually as required by federal regulations (as well as meet state requirements, if exceeds federal).</li><li>Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.</li><li>Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.</li><li>Must be willing to assist others, including co-workers.</li><li>Must meet all local health regulations, pass post-employment physical exam if required.
