The Rehabilitation Aide provides supportive and ancillary services to the professional staff of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Rehabilitation Aide at Hackensack Meridian can be described as follows:
1.Prepares and cleans whirlpools and attends patients while in whirlpool.
2.Assists patients in donning and doffing of prosthetic or orthotic devices.
3.Assists patients in dressing and undressing in preparation of treatment.
4.Assists the therapist in setting up patients on all therapeutic equipment.
5.Maintains linen and other supplies at all times at the disposal of the professional staff.
6.Prepares hot and cold packs for use by the therapists.
7.Adjusts non-modality equipment for patient use.
8.Assists therapists in gait training of patients and is able to provide support to patients while ambulating safely lower patients to the floor in case of a total loss of balance.
9.Performs daily whirlpool scheduling and completes daily assignment sheet.
10. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
11. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

The Radiology Tech Aide is responsible for assisting the Radiology Department, Cat Scans and/or the technologist in imaging services. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Radiology Tech Aide at Hackensack Meridian can be described as follows: 1. Schedules patients and provide procedure explanation in English. 2. Reads and understands patient's medical chart and/or physician's orders. 3. Prepares room for imaging study i.e. Patient immobilization, cassette selection, etc. 4. Assists with portable x-ray examinations in patients' rooms, operating suites, and emergency department. 5. Follows operational procedure to correctly identify patient's films with name and x-ray number, and accurately marks patient's films. 6. Develops exposed x-ray film by processing methods available. 7. Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists physician in administering radiopaques mixtures to patient. 8. Maintains orderly x-ray room as directed by department policy. 9. Performs administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patients' instruction, film filing, maintenance of records, reception of patients, and other administrative duties as required. 10. Responsible for scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends. 11. Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patients care. 12. Greets in/out patients when they arrive for their exam utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards. 13. Adheres to the policies of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality. 14. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc. This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver (s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.). 15. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within three months of hire. Licenses and Certifications Preferred: 1. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
