Position Summary # The Rehabilitation Services Supervisor will assist the manager in the organization, coordination and supervision of Rehabilitation Services. The supervisor will coordinate evidence-based programs and practices related to the care of patients in his/her clinical area. The supervisor will provide patient care at least 50% of the time based on standards of practice and will serve as a clinical mentor to employees. He/she plans treatment programs and performs therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery.# He/she may delegate patients to PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, and/or SLPs, as appropriate for practice area, and performs re-evaluations and supervisory visits per state practice act.

Assists in training, orientation, and competencies for new associates and ongoing training and competencies for current associates. Assists in the hiring process to fill vacant positions as needed. Maintains own training and competence in required duties and skills. Assists the manager with staff scheduling as needed, ensuring appropriate coverage for all staffing needs and serving as a backup in extenuating circumstances. Provides education to staff related to clinical area and standards of practice. Monitors quality, data, and compliance with programs and practices as needed. Assures patient care needs are met, assists in scheduling, and monitors productivity. Performs appropriate assessment and reassessment procedures based on accepted practice standards. Provides therapy according to treatment plan. Completes timely and accurate documentation and billing according to practice standards. Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers. Delegates to and supervises physical therapy associates and support staff. Utilizes non-patient care time to assist others, enhance professional growth, and participate in program development. Attends departmental and hospital committees and meetings. Completes other duties as assigned.
