Position Summary

Dynamic full-timeinternship opportunity for Summer 2020.This opportunity will provide exposure to many of the regulations, standards, and practices that define the regulatory landscape and govern the medical device industry by assisting both Regulatory Operations and International Regulatory Affairs with:

  • Maintaining information in various databases and spreadsheets for compliance with domestic and international regulations

  • Compiling information for submission of drug and device master files to the FDA

  • Organizing and clean-up of department electronic files

What you will do:

  • Entering and maintaining information in STERIS databases and Excel spreadsheets for International registrations, FDA registrations, and unique device identification (UDI) compliance

  • Organizing and archiving documents in shared network folders

  • Reviewing accuracy of information in databases, spreadsheets and network folders

  • Compiling documents for regulatory submissions

  • Communicating via email and phone with Customers and STERIS Quality in order to obtain / verify registration information

  • Circulating documents for review and approval

What you will need to be successful:

  • Currently enrolled in college with a major in science, engineering, regulatory, internal audit, premedical, legal, or general business core concentration.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Position Summary The Intern will be working directly with the Surgical Solutions Controls Group Software Engineering Team supporting new product development and sustaining of existing products, working under the guidance of STERIS Software engineers. The Intern will work on projects supporting the production of operating room related surgical devices used in the healthcare industry and will gain experience with processes associated with working in a regulated healthcare industry. Duties * Design, implement, and debug software components according to corporate standards and procedures * Program and debug C/C++ embedded and PC applications * Program and debug JavaScript PC applications for automated testing of embedded control systems * Software component development and verification, technology assessment, debugging software defects, and automation of engineering and factory tests * Write and execute unit, system, integration, and stress tests * Update software documentation as required * Research and evaluate new software and hardware technologies for potential integration into products * Work as a collaborative team member in engineering projects Required Experience Minimum Educational Requirement: Successful completion of Juniorlevel coursework or above by May 2020, with a Major in one or more of the following: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering * Previous experience/coursework with microprocessor interfacing / embedded design (i.e. ARM preferred or other MCU/DSP) is required * Previous experience/coursework with software/firmware programming languages (i.e. C/C++/JavaScript) is required * Coursework in Mathematics and Physics * Coursework and Labs in Electrical/Electronic Engineering * Experience/coursework with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CAD/Schematic Capture (i.e. Altium preferred) STERIS is a $3B, publicly traded (NYSE: STE) organization with approximately 12,000 associates worldwide and operates in more than 100 countries.
