In this role, you will be responsible for planning, managing, developing and oversight of the execution of Regulatory Compliance test procedures, data collection, and analysis. Work involves testing/analyzing various powertrain systems in the test cell and vehicle level environment. The Regulatory Engineer will be responsible for standardizing procedures, configuring test systems, data collection & analysis, test reports and working closely daily as an interface between Product Engineering and our valued internal/external customers.

Essential Duties:

  • Establish and generate standard operating procedures and document practices in accordance with Regulatory Compliance.

  • Utilization of a systems engineering approach to design, develop, implement, and execute reliable, repeatable testing in support of business needs and timing.

  • Plans, leads, and handles the execution of Regulatory Compliance testing.

  • Assess worldwide Greenhouse Gas regulations and identify impacts to Allison Transmission products and customers.

  • Communicate technical data to internal and external engineering organizations as well as regulatory/certification agencies.

  • Documents test events/results through Test Reports, log entries and database entries as appropriate.

  • Prepares, or assists in preparation of program bids or requests for cost estimates.

  • Observes and develops applicable procedures and practices as delineated in Test Operations Manual, PE Procedures, and Standard Procedures.

  • Working with a high level of independent judgment and decision-making.

  • Continuous improvement to documentation.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Automotive, or equivalent degree/experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5-7 years experience in Regulatory Compliance or related field

  • High level of technical experience with fuel economy and carbon balance

  • Proficient with Green House Gas Regulations

  • Proficient with International Organization Standards (ISO)

  • Proficient in oral and written business communication

  • Experience in laboratory test environment as well as Field Engineering

  • High level of technology experience with emissions data acquisition equipment and systems, and heavy-duty test equipment or equivalent experience with industrial systems

  • Ability to generate clear and concise formal presentations and proposals

  • High level of analytical ability

  • High level of interpersonal skills

  • Ability to set and meet goals for all deliverables

  • Demonstrated technical ability

  • Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical expertise of powertrain systems (multi-fuel applications) and after-treatment applications

  • Technical expertise of fuel delivery systems and fuel analyzers

  • Mechanical/Automotive Systems Engineering experience with a focus in Green House Gas

  • Basic knowledge of automatic transmission operation, clutches, controls (both hydraulic and electrical), hydraulics, gears, electric machines, and hybrid and electrified propulsion systems

  • Basic knowledge and troubleshooting experience in various powertrain systems

The successful applicant will represent the Ecotoxicology Team on multidisciplinary regulatory teams responsible for development, registration or re-registration of new and existing crop protection products. Opportunities exist for scientific growth within this role including working on cross-active ingredient projects, innovative/ higher-tier testing approaches and communicating data to a wide variety of audiences. The position will involve close liaison with registration colleagues and technical experts across a wide range of disciplines within Corteva Agriscience™, industry associations, and national or international regulatory authorities. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will serve as a global ecotoxicologist in the development of crop protection products; this includes: * Planning ecotoxicology test programs and providing oversight for outsourced (contract) work or quality testing. * Providing environmental risk assessments in accordance with regulatory expectations. * Providing reports and presentations for regulatory agencies and interfacing with regulatory agencies. * Contributing as a member of multiple product teams operating in a collaborative, team environment. * Effectively utilizing organizational networking to influence decision making. The successful candidate will also contribute to external science, including publications and science-related arenas related to ecotoxicology, and leverage that influence to benefit the company by: * Keeping current with developments in ecotoxicology and risk assessment, and providing technical expertise and support to regulatory science, registration and business teams. * Representing ecotoxicology and/or regulatory sciences externally at meetings and conferences. * Regularly communicating with management of the impact of current and pending regulations/guidance and how they may affect the company. * Travel approximately 10 percent of the time – domestic and international Job Qualifications Qualifications: * MS in Environmental Toxicology, Ecology, Entomology, Zoology, or other ecotoxicology-related science preferably with 10+ years experience in ecotoxicology serving the agrochemical industry. * Preferred PhD in Environmental Toxicology, Ecology, Entomology, Zoology, or other ecotoxicology-related science preferably with some work experience in ecotoxicology serving the agrochemical industry. * Strong scientific background and critical thinking skills coupled with application of scientific principles * Demonstrated teamwork and project management abilities * Ability to apply knowledge and experience to address issues in a timely and effective manner * Strong written and oral communication skills to deliver technical information to scientific and non-scientific audiences * High level of English Proficiency. * A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
