Job Description and Requirements
The Regulatory Compliance Officer is responsible for helping to assure that the credit union is in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, as well as credit union policies and procedures.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a good current and ongoing understanding of regulatory laws and regulations applicable to the credit union.
Perform and document research, verification, analysis, and validation of issues related to regulatory compliance across the enterprise. This includes consumer monitoring/testing/audit findings.
Evaluate the credit union's policies, procedures, products, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Make recommendations for change where appropriate.
Disseminate information, answer questions, and be a subject matter resource for the credit union on all regulatory compliance-related issues. This includes providing compliance risk input to business projects and initiatives.
Participate in the revision and/or design of forms, disclosures, notices, products, web site, programs, advertisements and promotions to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
Collect and organize regulatory agency directives, memoranda, interpretive rulings, laws and regulations.
Guide implementation of regulatory changes into business operations in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Participate in proposed changes to credit union policies, procedures, and credit union training updates for compliance with applicable regulatory laws and regulations.
Participate in new product development to provides input regarding compliance questions and concerns.
Review marketing and other member related materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum of 3 years of financial institution or regulatory compliance experience; auditing or testing for regulatory compliance
NCCO Certification (NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer), Bank Certified Compliance Officer, or similar compliance certification required either before or immediately after entering position
Broad knowledge of and practical experience with credit union or other financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and the applicable laws and regulations
Ability to conduct thorough research and to document and communicate findings and recommendations
Good communication, analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills
