The Member Services Regulatory Compliance Coordinator is directly responsible for analyzing, reporting, monitoring, and assisting with incorporation of standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements into Member Services practice to meet state, federal, and accreditation compliance

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration

Skills:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical patient care processes

  • Extensive experience in state, federal, and accreditation reporting processes

  • Exceptional written, telephonic, and oral communication (public speaking), problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Ability to coordinate and organize multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and graphics

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

Years of Experience: Minimum of two to four years in a healthcare delivery system, managed care or Medicaid organization

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Investigate and provide answers to inquiries from participating and non-participating hospitals, primary care and specialty physicians, ancillary and allied health care professionals regarding claim status, claim payment, referral confirmations and facilitations, authorizations, appeals, member benefit and eligibility. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Resolve all inquiries (telephonic, portal, webmail, written and faxed) accurately from both participating and non-participating providers regarding processed and unprocessed claims, member eligibility, benefits, referral confirmations and facilitations documenting by using contact service form or other approved method. * Communicate to providers appropriate claims filing requirements including, but not limited to, use of proper billing forms, coding requirements, timely filing limitations, and appeal processes. * As a result of provider claim inquiries, identify those claims that require adjustments. * Forward adjustment requests in a prompt and accurate manner to the Claims Department for adjudication. * In response to member inquiries, contact providers in a timely manner to problem solve issues related to inappropriate billings, assuring the contractual obligations of the providers are met. * Provide support to internal customers (Member Services, Utilization/Case Management, Provider Relations, etc.) regarding claim/member billing issues to assure member/provider satisfaction and to meet regulatory compliance standards. * Meet specific telephone and contact service form performance standards as indicated in the department's quality indicators. * Cooperate, as needed, intra-departmentally as well as inter-departmentally, and perform all other duties as assigned to support the overall operations within the Provider Relations Department. Job Requirements * One to three years experience in one or more of the following areas: HMO/PPO customer service, claims submission and/or processing (AMISYS database), medical terminology, medical billing, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and DRG coding. * Demonstrate planning, organizational, analytic and problem solving skills required, with the ability to handle multiple priorities. * Strong customer service skills required. * Effective communication (oral, written, & interpersonal) skills required. * Ability to move between company workstations. * Experience in using microcomputers for spreadsheets and word processing preferred. * Ability to communicate on telephones ProMedica is a mission-based, not-for-profit integrated healthcare organization headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
